im having major problems with a project that is basically complete, exept for this!! there seems to be a mystery leak and i cant do anything about it!! its completely annoying me. i cant run the poinfile in TFC for some reason and have had to cope with the hammer pointfile view, which made no sense to me.

i have uploaded the map into the Map Vault -> Problem Maps under the name 'Midmap'

if anyone could have a quick look and see if they can find the possible leak i would love them forever ;p

thanks for any help in advance!!

Use pointfile in hammer. Follow the blue line untill it becomes red and passes through a brush. there's your leak.

dude, the easiest way to stop ALL leaks is to make a big block that on the entire map and hollow it, this way even if there is a leak it just looks like a little black slit if you can find it, or you could do the same thing with a sky texture and you will be able to see the leak easily ;)

Hmm... Thats called skybox - dont use it for finished maps.

You will only get a red and blue pointfile line in Hammer 3.5.

LEAK finding is a personal preference thing. Most of the suggestions above will work...

I prefer looking at the pointfile line using hl -particles 10000 and then running the map with gl_clear 2.

I think Pointfile is the most effective and less time-consuming than the others. The 'Big Block' Method just takes way too long, as for cordoning off areas and recompiling. Skyboxing will create lag and more compile time.
