A lot of trouble can be saved when you use the customized compile tools for Half-Life. Get them here, install them and if it still not works, we'll have a look at it :-P

Firstly, the newest compilers can be found here.
They contain the RAD exe from xp-cagey's p13 tools and the CSG, BSP and VIS exe from the p15 tools.
To your log:
********** ERROR **********
Token too large on line 6
You've used too many wads. The string which contains the wad names is too long.
********** ERROR **********
nummarkfaces == MAX_LEAF_FACES
Your map is too complex. There must be a complex or strange construction of world brushes. Did you create or modify any complex objects?

You use them just like the old tools.
Just replace the old executables with the new ones in the settings of VHE.
qcsg - hlcsg
qbsp2 - hlbsp
vis - hlvis
qrad - hlrad
The new features are listed in the documentation.

There are definate limits when mapping in Half-Life. Half-Life is over 5 years old and as such, you will not be able to create extremly large and detailed maps. You have to find ways to imitate detail without pushing the constraints of the engine. Take a look at this to give a small idea at what you can do.
