I downloaded hammer 3.5 and started setting it up. In build programs for some reason, I cant find all of the executables after the first one which is the game executable. Any help>?, for some reason I cant find hammer in C:Program Files. PLease help.

Your hammer dir isnt necessarily in prog files. It's where you have hammer.exe, which is often NOT in program files....mine defaulted into C:valvehammer. See if that dir exists, and then search your HD for it.

Search for hammer.exe.

for hammer 3.5 i'm sure you need hammer 3.4, it's just a beta, and you drag and drop it over your 3.4.

also, build programs is for compiling, don't compile with hammer. it's 6 years old.
use Batch Compiler, i do believe there is a tutorial about it in the tutorial section.

Or make your own batches like me

I dont have build programs setup at all!

Yeah, you'll need 3.4 first. That has all the tools like qrad and vis.

...which you most certainly do not want to use. Get Zoner's tools from our Links page, which are for Half-Life and are much better and quicker, etc.

hey well can some one gmme a link to hammer 2.4 and tell me what i need to do to get it working with 3.5 ps... i alwready have 3.5 on my comp, should i delete it first and what files does it go in ??? thx a WHOLE lot

Get 3.4 from VERC also.

You need to install 3.4 first, then follow the instructions that come with 3.5 on how to achieve installation.

get 3.4
set it up with steam (i imagine you're using steam)
don't worry about build programs or in fact anything else except game configurations.
drag and drop your 3.5 (after making sure it has nothing in the Tools/Options menu) over the 3.4.exe

now (like 7th nicely intercepted there) set up ZHLT for the compiling.
make sure you get the fgd required for model support, and make sure you have no other fgd's in hammer's Tools/Options menu.
