well not exactly more like spore on my screeen

i am yet again continuing horror map and thought why not hav a scientist hanging off a lede then a trigger makes him fall so i did all te stuff tested it and it worked fine well i need to position the scientist a bit more cause his hanging in mid air lol

well basically i thought it looked fine untill i realised there was yellow spore crap around the scientist, and i remeber seeing that b4 sumwer but not wen the scientists are hanging on half life

so one thing how the hell do i stop that yellow crap from appearing around my character arrrrghhh :

Move the scientist in such a way that his bounding box is not stuck into a brush.

are u saying that if i move the scientist a little the yellow stuff wont appear or are u answering my other question??? :confused:

I'm saying that you need to move the scientist entity and the scripted_sequence so that they do not touch any brushes. The yellow stuff appears when a visible entity (ie monster) is partially stuck into a brush.

o ok thnx thats sumthing new to me but uhh u see i want the scientist to hang on a ledge and well if his hands dont touch the ledge its not going to look realistic but i dont care as long as the yellow crap goes

If you look in HL, notice that the monsters always seem a little misaligned....scis are a few units from the wall, hands are always in mid-air, slightly, and they don't grab onto things very well :P . This is to prevent this yellow stuff, and in some HL maps, if you run -dev, you can notice a few areas where it still shows up.

ummm i did as u said and it worked yeah but it seems to hav made my sci appear under the ledge and slightly under the floor

this is odd as i raised him on hammer just a sec ago :

Make an invisible platform. Put the scipted sequence on it, set postion to instanttuanoeus (Or whatever). With this option set, monster will not have those yellow thingies anymore.

Then again, this doesn't matter if people aren't running -dev. Of course, most mappers always run it -dev and will complain, but general gamers? Doubt it.
