I want to create a small multiplayer mod called Xen Wars. You enter the game and choose a class:
Alien Slave
Alien Grunt
Alien Controller
Headcrab
Icthyosaur
Genome
Once you pick your class you start playing. I can pull off editing speed/health for each class but I need someone to code these weapons:
Controller's beam attack (already have model)
Headcrab bite (instant kill)
Icthyosaur bite (primary bites, secondary makes ou go faster and roar, like when they are preparing to attack)
Genome arms + model (would be best if someone simple cut the arms off of the genome model, the default genome attack animations would work fine so dont worry about editing the animations)

So, is anyone up to it?
OH! And is it possible to get the source for tfc as I need it for making the classes themselves.

Yeah thats preety sad zombie :P - Well this mod sounds an awful like natural selection ... I hate to say it but natural selection would be better than this and people probably wouldnt play this.

Maybe you need to work out the mod better and provide some work already done before trying to attract a coder. These guys are hard to find, you know...

Ichtosaur... as a player class? While all the others are land-based creatures there's a fish to choose? How are you going to fight an alien grunt firing at you?

And TFC's source isn't available as far as I know. You might try searching for it though...

Well I had planned to have the maps have ver large areas of water or some places are only acceable through water. And because you cant go on land as an icthyosaur, all water would be linked together. But Ive never played Natural Selection, what do you do in that game?

Well in a alien slaves or alien controllers case you'd have 2, zap or slash. Anyway, just checked out natural selection and am downloading it now. Aliens vs marines... What aliens do you get to be? Are they the same ones from Half Life?

Natural Selection is NOTHING like Xen Wars, what are you people thinking?! Natural selecion looks likes it starcraft, and it doesnt have anything to do with Xen.

Life gear isnt a noob mod. Its a challenging game. And I can multi task as I have a ton of free time most of the time. Actually right now Im working on...

Xen Wars (just planning right now, can't start untill I have some code)

The Outcast (rpg, no relation to Half Life what so ever)

5 things. Wow. But if I cn't get any coders here no biggy, I can problem code some of the things myself, but hey wont be as good as I am not that great of a coder. Or I can get some peopl at the superhero mod website. So... yeah...

I am working on tons of secret maps, a game engine, a doom3 mod, 2 websites, a forums engine. Life gear is another mod by a TWHL member that requires lots of coding and will never be finished. Probably the same with this one. So just GIVE UP ALREADY with your noob mods.

That's quite harsh, MoP, but I do agree that multiple projects at once are a bit too much. You may not have experienced yet, Coolfat, but it's really going to get busy for you if you want to pull this all off while still maintaining a decent quality level.

Coders, as I said already, are hard to find. I'm a bit into coding, but it's not really something I would do for every first mod that comes around the corner. Since it costs lots of time and involves lots of testing, a coder would better get assured that the mod is promising and will actually come out. So, as I said already, convince them that you're able to lead and finish a mod. Otherwise I don't see you attracting much coders... maybe you're lucky, probably not.

Not to discourage you, just... from own experience a bit, a bit of reality check...

Yeah, I stick to three things (besides school :P )

Right now I'm working on:

-dm_hell
-Maybe another map for HL, but if the D3 SDK comes out, then a map for that
-Learning coding, so I can make some cool D3 mods :cool:

LIFE GEAR DOESNT HAVE ANY NEW CODE!!! I've said that like 6 times!!! But if Mop is is mutli mapping then why shouldn't I? Appearntly you peple are under the impression that becuase my previous maps arent 5 start worthy then I have no mapping skills what so ever.

And not everything has to do wheher a game has new code or whether the maps good good or not. I mean, if someone made a briliant mod but the levels were kind of dull i wouldnt give, I would be focusing on the actual gameplay.

Hey! Doom 2 was an awesome game! And apparently Doom 3 IS as good as everyone says, I know 2 people who have it, both love it.

I have Doom3 and I am now making a mod for it when the SDK is released. Only mapping for it atm.
