On the contrary, it can decrease your FPS as it can cause more face splitting within brushes.

Both of you are right, but dont make an entire level out of func_walls. Thats not a goo idea because vis and rad will see tright through that and you will get numerous errors.

By that you mean, the game engine does not render it as an object seperating you from the outter black beyond.
And i do agree with CoolFat, thats not a 'goo' idea.

Yes, make sure no entity brushes are used as borders between the void and the map.

func_wall detail brushes like furniture or complex architecture that's not a border piece, and leave main architecture brushes as world brushes.

in simple form, it changes something thats an entitie (some thins that doese something eg. func_train) to a non entitie, also known as a brush
