hello,l i've been having a lighting problem with hammer, it seems that i don't have to add any lights because hammer lights EVERYTHING up on its own, making light entities useless and making everything look nasty, it never happaned on worldcraft 3.3 but it does this on hammer 3.5, anyone know what i'm talking about?

Hmm not sure try adjusting the rad setting just before you compile you (no,normal, full)that might work but i suggest you use texlights they are much better there is a tutorial on them here. You may also have a leak ;)

Leaks put the map on fullbright, as do no lights or texlights.

i can't have a leak on them all, many of the maps in question, don't have leaks, there is no LEAK LEAK LEAK message on the run dialog.

try running hlrad.exe - that makes the lighting in your map

sometimes, when you upgrade, hammer resets your config. which by default does not run rad

You have zhlt?

this guy obviously has not even tried putting the lights on his map, therefore ZHLT has lit it all up.

try putting a light in the level!

by the by not compiling the rad automatically makes fullbright. so does typing r_fullbright 1 in the console (but i dont think u did that)

there is no leak!, on the compile there are no problems!, i have lights on my levels, I' have ZHLT ...etc trying to compile with rad seems either to crash my system or take so long it looks like it crashed!

rad is what PUTS light in your level! If you want pretty lights, you have to get rad to compile! -don't worry about it taking ages, it's supposed to do that. Just visit Venice/ Belgium/France and try some of the coffee they have over there. It should have either finished or crashed when you get back. It's what I would do :P
