hey all im sorta new to mapping and im making a rp map and i have this torture chamber where it floods it and kills who ever is inside but i want it to be quicker then waiting for them to drown so i need the water to hurt straight away i tried to use a trigger_hurt worked fine but when i press the button again it won't go away like back down so its no there anymore then i found a topic on the forum about this where u set the water to hurt when blocked i tried that but it didn't hurt is there anything else you were meant to set to get it to hurt

give the hurt a name

have it start off

target the hurt when you initiate the flood

target the hurt again when the flood is over

Set the water type to slime or lava. It may give the wrong icon on the hud, but only jackasses will complain aboot that.

ok thanks i'l try that btw fiz i tried the slime and lava but it kills them as soon as they touch it

ok i tried doing that but the hurt doesn't go back it jsut stays there i have it on a switch

water and hurt have same name and the switch activates them both then u pres switch again and the water goes down but the hurt still stays there

: any ideas mabey u could make a quick example map to show me

Oh, so you want them to start drwoning instantly

Trigger_Hurt:
Name: Don't give it a name or it will require a trigger_auto to target it.
damage/sec: 8
Master: hurt_ms

Env_Global:
Name: Same as the func_water
Global state: drown
Trigger Mode: Toggle
Initial State: On

Multisource:
Name: hurt_ms
Global State Master: drown

Whatever activates the water also toggles the global state from on to off which turns the multisource on or off, which in turn turns the trigger hurt on or off.

did the example map i made do what you wanted?

if so, i just gave the hurt the same name as the water and i have the button targetting them both.

and the last anonymous that was giving instructions was a different member who wasn't logged on. you can tell me because you can click on my name----->

Ok, the post I made above is very self explaining. Make those 3 entities, and give them those properties. Its really simple.
