ok here they are:

1. When you map for hl2 will it come with a wad or doesnt it use wads anymore?

2. When is it coming out?

3. When you make a map in CS how do you make weapons appear on the ground like on a aim map? e.g. i have ct's v t's starting without weapons and i want them to jump off a cliff into water, then swim to any weapon on the floor so they can have it

(another example is the pool map!)

4. Have you lot seen all the videos of hl2?

5. i found a cool site with realistic textures now i ant to use them on my maps so i saved them all in a folder then opened wally, told it to make a .wad then i said add images. It had all the images listed so i told it to save it and then i tell hammer to use it and for some odd reason not all the textures appear in the list and some are even black and dont apply to walls? any ideas?

6. Do you think that more people will play CS:S rather than the original CS? oh and does it replace the old one or is new folders etc?

Thankyou for reading and i hope you have all the answers as im really interested!

1. HL2 uses tga's as I'm led to believe

2.Later this month, possibly christmas, I'm still betting on late 2005 release.

3.look in the map vault, under example maps (aim map example - 2nd or 3rd page), or read my journal, I posted a druaght of a tutorial I'm writing for making fy_ style maps.

4.I've seen 3, and I whacked off to all of them.

jk

5.I am possibly the worst person to ask, read some tutorials about converting jpeg to .wad, it's not hard, but does require some "faff"ing around.

6.CS:S will replace CS1.6, as it is effectively 1.7
yes, you'll be able to play 1.6 for a long time yet, but CS:S has it's own folder structure, it is in itself an new mod for CS.

7.The default is 4096, you can increase it up to 8192, then i'd stop because it will lag like a whore.
preferably using even numbers, ie: adding to 4096 in multiples of 256 (nice bing number, if you need to increase it by anything less then you don't need to increase it lol)

)

1. Half-life2 uses the .vmt texture format. It's 1 tex / file == lots of files.
Wads can be used though, but it's horridly outdated.

2. Hopefully before 2005 since VALVe already sent the release candidate to Vivendi (and if they're smart they BETTER accept it).

3. read Peace und loevs.

4. Seen em' all.

5. Read some Wally tutors.

6. CS: S will surely attract a big crowd, but CS will still live on old computers.
