Ok I have looked in the example maps and in the tuts.
But how do I make my map work in multiy player?

Add some info_player_deathmatch entities I think...
It should show up in the Half-Life multiplayer menu then.

1 more thing.Cause of the way my internet con works(I do not have direct link) my externall IP is diffrent from my internal IP and there is nothing I can do. And this seems to prevent my games appsering on the list. What can I do to test my maps?(I map with WON HL because I don`t know how to upgrade to steam on 2 comps and my comp with steam doesn`t like hammer.)

You can't host server's until you fix your router to allow direct access to your IP address.

I just noticed you said it's a 'team map' , you mean players working togetehr? or against each other?

And I'm sure someone could host it.
Posted 20 years ago2004-10-28 07:54:08 UTC Post #70029
2 teams.they start togeter but the team that holds the fort is more likely to win.But with all the start points in one place getting to it should be easyer said than done
Posted 20 years ago2004-10-28 08:25:44 UTC Post #70033
That sounds like you might as well just make a box and fill it with spawns and guns.

People will just kill each other at teh start, then 1 or 2 people will be left to camp the round out while hiding in the fort...
Posted 20 years ago2004-10-28 09:03:23 UTC Post #70050
How could I make 1 team start in the fort and one team outside then change it.
Posted 20 years ago2004-10-28 09:06:02 UTC Post #70051
and the fort is just a wall with a door and a tower on each side. But once it works I will add turets and some other buildings
Posted 20 years ago2004-10-28 09:41:38 UTC Post #70060
Right, well, this is where it gets, tricky. imho (in my honest opinion), you should make the two teams spawn on opposite ends of the map, and they have to rush to get to the fort.

There is a way to swap the teams around, but I honestly think you should work on your mapping first.

But who am I to get in teh way of a total nub, to swap teams you need to have a load of trigger_teleports under the players, they drop through, you then swap which destinations teh teleports go through, it;s all very complicate dplease don't even try it.
Thank you.

Create a LAN Game, it shouldn't affect your internet at all.

Then set sv_lan 0 after starting a LAN game.

just turn your firewalls off and copy your online mod to dedicated server (the whole mod folder) and then you can choose to make a server on it so do that and then choose to play the game while running the server then wait till others join and play its what i do on rlm!

He is going through a router, my friend has this problem, if he is going through another IP he people won't be able to join his game.

Killer, just release your map in as many Mapping Sites as possible, thenm alot of people will have your map, then you can join a server, or whatever.

But don't expect people to just wanna play your map instantly, just because you made it, you ain't that big a star :

also it is at v1.So there may be bugs that are not vissble in single play.
also I don`t know if it is set up right so I will put it in the map vault but as I don`t know if it works online I don`t know where to put.

You need to change your port to something other than :27015 if you're going to host the server in the computer you play from. Otherwise, you'll butt heads...
