Every time I run a map i've made, and go back to it after running, the 3D view in Hammer goes white. Its flipping annoying cos I have to keep logging off and on so I can see the 3D view... anyone know what the problem is? I'm running XP Service Pack 2...

By the way.. I've only had this problem since I recently installed XP, before that I was running 98SE and had no problems...
Also when I click to maximise the window, it gets smaller...

yeah my ram is only 256mb, I was gonna add 1gig of ram but apparently its better to have 2 sticks of 256mb rather than 1 stick of 256mb and another of a gig...

You, sir, are a weird and unwise person.
Re-install the sdk, format if you go desperate.

Weird and unwise?

This isn't the SDK, just hammer..

you could just buy another stick of 256 if you get desperate. or buy a big stick of, say, 512 and replace your 256. but your right, 2 RAM sticks always have to be the same size, wieght, hair colour, blood type, religion...

I have 256 mb memory and it runs fine its probly not the memory. I had glitches when I first installed it but it helps if you wait for steam to fully install it via the options by the sdk.

Not to mention an incompetent mathematician :|

Oh, I think Steve meant, essentially, speed.

SDK is also the toolkit for HL2 in this case. It's either Software Development Kit or Standard Development Kit - Either one.

This problem is not related to RAM. I believe it has something to do with the graphics drivers. Here are some solutions I'm suggesting:

1. Try updating the graphics drivers
2. Reinstall Hammer
3. Uninstall Service pack 2, you're safer with SP1 and a firewall

ps. Do not combine two different pieces of Ram

I too had the problem whith it said "ShutdownOpenGL - wglMakeCurrent failed" Then i reinstaled it and then it was fine for me...

"ShutdownOpenGL - wglMakeCurrent failed"
It won't affect your mapping. A few faulty lines in the shutdown sequence code won't damage saved or compiled maps.
