I am looking to purchase a good grapics card. Mine is just utter shit.
I have a budget of about $100.

100$ quite.. little.. well you can get radeon 9600pro with it. It's quite goodie. XT cost's 150$~

There's actually quite big difference between pro and xt.
Radeon9800pro and 9800XT doesnt have such a big difference than r9600pro - xt.
Most pro's are 128mb but there are 256mb versions too. XT is always 256mb. XT is like, 1?-2x radeon9600pro
I recommend that you should buy the XT

Don't buy a graphics card if its under $100.
Also, it depends on what standard you are using? AGP8x? or PCIe?
PCIe is the better and newer bus.

doesnt matter that much. what really matters is the amount of memory and the clock speeds. also important to have a good cooling system especially if youre looking at overclocking it.

The memory isnt the most important thingie.. Im going to buy a geforce 6600GT 128mb. It beats r9800-series cards.
Oh, And Geforce FX5*** series suck. Badly. Radeon got best "cheap" cards (read: old and that's why theyre cheap).

If i were you Chow, i'd save my money til i had at least 250$. there is no point in buying a low-end Gpu.

Your PC is a Dell with integrated graphics and I have no doubt that theres no AGP socket, only PCI, and no, it's not PCI-E, which is only found in Intel i925x and nVidia nForce 4 motherboards. As you probably don't know much about computers, I would recommend just buying a computer that already has decent graphics, or getting Dell to upgrade it.

PCI-E = sucky because it can't cope with bus speed adjustments like AGP can. On AGP mobos, with most modern ATI cards you can crank the AGP to 77mhz. Although, be careful adjusting it if you use a SATA drive since this can cause corruption.

AGP is better in my opinion cause u get a dedicated bus for the graphics card. graphics cards using PCI and PCIe have to share the bus with other components such as the sound card. that increases the chance for errors and corruption. plus cards dont even use PCIe even close to its full potential. so no real difference at least not yet.

Are you sure the card itself is DX9? I've got software DX9 and hardware DX8 on my fairly new GeForce, check to see what your HW version is.
