How do I trigger a game_text entity, let's say, once every 3rd minute?

Use a multimanager, with the multithreaded flag checked, as so:

Name: threeminutemessage

Then add, as you normally would with the entity (read the tutorial if you're not sure):

threeminutemessage, delay 180
<your game_text entity's name>, delay 1.
