How do you make the opp4 intro... the helicopter ride. Ive seen it done in Sven Co-Op maps as well where the landscape repeats itself... I have an amazing idea for a movie map but i need to know this.

i believe it was done using a trigger_camera and the chopper was a func_train. the camera just followed the same path as the chopper. of course that wouldnt explain how you could still look around...perhaps surround the info_player_with clip brushes...it could involve some kind of scripting

the landscape is actually a func_train. the landscape moves, and the osprey is just a bunch of static brushes. the landscape in opfor didn't actually repeat, but if you want it to repeat just cut the landscape into smaller chunks, and make each chunk teleport back to the first path_corner.

There is a tutorial on this subject on the VERC Collective.

lol... wow... i didnt expect the land to be a train :).. he he. i thought it may be that the helicopter was a train that went round in a circle..

When the osprey gets shot down it teleports you to a different chopper set inside a bunch of rocks that rotate in order to simulate falling. However its only short and theres fire and explosions all over the place so you can't see it repeating itself. :D

he he

.. its odd. i watched it again, its done very cleverly so you dont notice that there are no shadows on the cliffs
