********** ERROR **********
C:Program FilesValveSteamSteamAppsbishop_bashercondition zeroczeromapsde_struggle.bsp is version 571084155, not 30

That's the problem, exactly. About two months ago Hammer decided to stop working and for several reasons I could not compile and run maps for Condition Zero. I've gotten it down to this one error, but I'm stumped!

Please help!!!!

Whoever solves this is officially the coolest person in the world for the rest of the day.

thnx much, Blitzkrieg :nuke:

Here are a few of the problems that popped up under this situation:

1. You may have errors in your compile, if not then,
2. Your pak0pak.pak file may be corrupted?
3. Maybe the wrong game version?
4. Wrong WC/Hammer version? Earlier versions of WC were particularly prone to this. Use WC 3.3 or Hammer!
5. Maybe another compile will make it go away, or not? And make sure you have the most up-to-date version of zoner's compiling tools....
6. You may have a bad model - like one from another mod or game, or you once installed a custom one? Or you may have a corrupted sprite or model?
7. Have you installed a patch recently? It might be bad....
Of note, make sure you're running the latest version of Hammer--3.4 or 3.5BETA, and the latest compile tools.

edit: I've neither played, nor mapped for cz, so I don't know if you use the regular cs FGD, or a special CZ FGD, but here is one I found for CZ: Deleted Scenes, anyway:

CZ:Deleted Scenes FGD

I downloaded and set up Zoner's tools and guess what? It's compiling!

Thanks for responding so quickly! :D

New problem!

When I start up CZ and go to new game and select my map and hit go, the loading screen thingy appears like normal. But then it gets about two bars full, and quits and says "fatal error: steama.wad not found" or somthing like that.

Post screenie of your "Game Configuratinons" tab, under options.

You can load textures into hammer from any directory, but:
  • They have to be in the "game directory" when you play the game--"...counters-strikecstrike"
-The "game directory" also has to be specified properly in the "Game Configurations" tab.

One of these is probably what you didn't do ;)

Where do you save your maps hammer uses?(RMF directory)

I dunno. Is there a certain place I should be?

Ignore that last post :zonked:

I set the right path for the RMF.

Usually its Valve Hammer Editormaps.
But it can be any folder you want.

The error where it quits is still happening except its the wierdest thing:

It said "Warning: Cannot find steama.wad" the first few times then it said "Warning: Cannot find bishop_bas.wad" instead! This got me confused because my account is bishop_basher.

I searched my computor for "steama.wad" but no file existed, then I thought of my steamapps folder. The error is saying it can't find wads that dont exist! It's taking my folders and looking for wads with that name!

WHAT THE F**K IS GOING ON???? lol seriously though, does anyone know?

Paste the full paths of all the WADs that you have loaded into Hammer. Looks like Windows being stupid to me.

uh.... every CZ wad. :) hehehe...::shifty eyes:: :zonked:

How many wads does CZ have? 8 wads is the maximum you may use, remove some unused wads(in the certian map) and usless wads(like gfx.wad and fonts, wad) from the textures list.

Thats the problem for sure, when it says it can't open wads you don't have it means you used too many wads.

lol I knew you were'nt supposed to use too many but I didn't know there was a physical limit(how did I miss that part of the tutorial?) Thanks hopefully now I can fix it! :D

I was just searching Tommy 14's error list and you should see all the seemingly inexplicable errors having too many wads can potentially cause!

Just load up Tommy's, hit Ctrl+F, and search "too many wads"...

It pops up many many times! Maybe we should consider this error more when mappers are having "strange" trouble.

Thats probably not a bad idea. After a month or so of frustration, you guys fixed it for me. It works now! Woo Hoo! Soon it will be up on two servers and you guys did it! YAY! Well, not too soon. First I have to fix some stuff and wait for Dave Johnston to do a "revisited" article so he can rip on it:-)
