Well I am almost finished with a halflife deathmatch map and it is pretty big right now about 1.6 mb. There are no leaks but when I test it out the entitys that I created in it go invisible some times if you are not looking directly at them. Also the sky dissapears sometimes and basicaly turns black unless you look straight at it. the map takes literaly like 5 minutes to compile everytime i do so are these problems just prolly because the maps to big"well not so big just kinda complex" or what?

are you in software mode? and are you running vis?

and the sky may be turning black becasue its outside the view distance, is the map really really big? big as in long view distances. if so go to the map properties and put a higher number in for map max view distance

I was getting that too with my compo 20 map. Things I found--I think--that helped:

-make sure brush vertieces are on grid as much as possible
-use less-exotic, less-detailed shapes
-if you have 20 brushes tied to func_wall indivdually, try making them seperate and see if it helps.
If the brushes are very thin--1 or sub 1 unit-, make them fatter.
