How do you make a screenshot for a level preview with a decent size? Whenever I take a screenshot on my computer, the file is 2.25 mb. That's a ridiculous size but I don't know how to make them smaller!

Change the image format from .BMP to .JEPG

That should lower the size significantly

Most of us use a combination of IrfanView and MSPaint.
If you paste into IrfanView and save the .jpg file, don't forget to open it again in MSPaint and save it. This will reduce the file size dramatically.

What? There is no need to use Paint!
Check the save settings on IrfanView. There's a quality/size slider for JPG compression levels.

nope hypersnap and jasc paint shop!, you can save in any format that still frames allow! and also you can save t to a tga file and in the right way you can make your still frame into a new sky!, lol i took a digi pic of a friends hamster which looked pissed!, and now its the sky in one of my levels :lol:

Open it in paint and save as a jpeg. Simple.

Paint saves crap 256 colour 70% quality jpegs

I find fireworks impractical.. its sometimes overkill - when it comes to just viewing files...

but it is a good tool...
