First of all, I would like to say hello to all of you. I'm new in this community and I decided to join it as far as it really helped me to learn something about mapping.

Now, relating to my doubt, I would like to ask if you have the "Apply" button in the "Object properties" menu, because I only have the cross to close the window  and I am not being able to create objects in the map such as doors, bombsights, etc. If you can help me, please do so. :)

Thank you

There is no apply button. After tying the brush to an entity, or creating a point based one, you just set the properties and exit out. They're saved just like that until the next time you go to edit them.

I'm not sure why you're having trouble creating entities though...

a door is a brush tied to a func_door, and a bombsite is (i may be wrong) a trigger brush tied to some sort of entity as well.
Penguinboy PenguinboyHaha, I died again!

Maybe reinstall Hammer...

Unlike most other applications, reinstalling Hammer usually does nothing to fix problems with it. It's usually just something the user is doing wrong anyway, as is the case here it would seem.

blinox, could you elaborate a bit on what's keeping you from creating these entities? You haven't told us anything so far except that you simply can't do it. Are you able to create any other entities, or just the two you mentioned?

There are two types of entities in Hammer: brush-based and point-based entities.

Point-based entities(eg. light and player spawnpoints) are placed out anywhere on the map using the 'Entity Tool'-button.

Brush-based entities(eg. func_rotating_door and func_bomb_target) are created by tieing them to a brush. So you select an existing brush(or AAAtrigger-area) and press Ctrl+T on your keyboard and just select which entity it should be.

As I understood his problem is that when he is tieing a brush to an entity the window which pops up (the propeties) shows nothing (blank), only thing he can do is closing it with the cross (like any other window's cross at the right top of it)...maybe...xD

Maybe...
This is a common mistake i've learned to avoid. Do you have 'Ignore Groups' on? If you do, Hammer will ignore any groups of objects AND will ignore ENTITY GROUPS! So when you make an entity and then go click on it again with IG on then it thinks it's a solid brush not an entity. You have to watch this because you can end up with errors saying a func_bombsight entity is empty. This might be the problem.
