Yeh the name is still to be decided :^_^: (suggestions welcome)

Some ingame shots (sorry for low res, were taken after fraps vid, and sorry for no thumbnails, imageshack was dead when I was posting this):

(oh and yeh, I know this first image is very WIP, it was mainly to get the sequence ingame, updates on the details tomorrow kk)

The first screenshot is rather lacklustre I have to say. Try a curved wall/ceiling with those windows, and have them curl with it, similar to the curved wall/ceiling you have on the second screenshot.

Oh, I guess it wouldn't be clear from my description, it's not hl2-universe based, no antlions, only different kinds of cops, vehicles etc...

Just a personal opinion, but the ceiling lights in the 2nd screenshot look really low. It wouldn't be a problem if the second story wasn't there, but it feels to me like they're getting in the way of the player's view and are a little distracting.

mmm. perhaps raising the lights to just above the cell doors?

Edit: watched the vid. Nice choice as far as arming the player, i think it works out. You coulda made it a bit higher quality though, it only took 30 seconds to download.

Nice stuff. Lookin' good architecture-wise, though lacking detail, especially in screenie 1. Could use some pipes/electric panels, etc. In other words - moar props.

Heh so did you change the citizen shirt to orange yourself or use the one from that prison mod...Forgot what it was called :D

Pretty easy to make it orange so I'll just assume you made it.

Looking rather unique in a sense. It has Nova feeling but whether it is lighting or perhaps a slight change to textures...it feels new.

Keep it up. How many maps do you plan to make :D

Yeh I made the reskin for them, fairly easy.

Not sure how many maps, probably at least 3, but maybe even 5 or 6... depends how big they end up being, how good they are etc...

Habboi, that newish feeling you get, I see what you mean, I can't place my finger on it though. Is it perhaps the brick texture above the cells with the nice windows (as in not broken or spattered)?

I believe it may be the greenish lighting...or perhaps Doodle used a Colour Correction entity to give it a more saturated feeling. Anyway keep it up. Although one thing I don't like the large blue pillars in the first pic.

I think a standard brown metal and perhaps a different shape would suffice.

Sure is different...funky blue shadows :badass:

I think the second and third shots need a mix of lighting colours. Chuck in some dark corners or turn off one of those lights.

Okay, I've decided to make these posts more blog like. I guess I'll reveal more about the development process rather than just spamming you with media. (which is fun too, so I may have spamming on occasion.. heh)

As you may have noticed, I'm a fan of the detail each room, then add entities approach, a lot of people are against this and like big boxes of dev. Personally I think dev textures stem my creativity and leave the map feeling empty and without purpose.

So
it's sometimes hard in this case to add that final polished touch to a section of your map when you're still trying to think big picture. For instance I had this screenshot of my bathroom area:

it's alright, not great, but it has the basic elements down, the props, setting etc and is pretty much ready for the npc's right? Wrong. It still needs that extra bit of polish to let you move on. I guess what that area was really lacking was better contrast in the lighting, Trapt pointed this out and did a nifty drawover:

Nice. I had a simalar idea for a MOD like this, only in HL2 Universe. (Never did finish the SDK download, freakin' dial up) Nice work. as for reskins, You only need MO Picture manager and Paint for HL1. Not sure for HL2, havent been able to dabble in that yet. :walter: VS :freeman: !!!

As for names... hmmm.... Jailbreak is too generic... Tunnel? Wait, is it in prision, or breaking out? Innocent Dreams? Freedom at hand? I don't know, Im a story person myself, not a namer. Hope I at least game insperation, and didnt waste a post.
