it's not hard to code at all, but i'm not changing it because it works exactly how i want it to.
so it isn't a mistake. i was aware of what i was programming and i made it how i wanted it to work. it's not a bug or a mistake.

admit that i'm lazy? sure. but remember that i coded the whole site from nothing for no personal gain. if i was really lazy, you'd still be using the old site. (which, by the way, behaved the same in regards to PMs)

maybe later when i get some time i'll do up a javascript thing that doesn't let you submit the PM until the subject is filled in

Yeah, it's actually a problem with your browser, not TWHL. just press F5 on a page with your avatar and your browser will reload the images.

Searching the forums is painfully slow like slow roasting my dick.

Serious optimization needs to be done. A standard search yields 2-or-so-long minute waits and browsing the page results takes another 2 or so minutes per page.

Wow that is a long wait WorldCraft... My waits are long but not that long.

Maybe TWHL needs HGH or some healthy/delicious Vitamin Water?

Btw i have spiderbugs in my underarm cavities. What can be done to fix this?

This isn't a bug, it's just something I miss from the old TWHL2.
What happened to the little counter that stated how long it was since a specific member logged in?
It was very usefull because if you wanted to PM somebody about his map or anything you could always check that one first to see if he still is an active member or if he has left.

And sometimes it's just fun to watch ;O

I think there should be comments for the competition page entries (for winners or all entries, or at the very least, a general comment section for the whole compo? (i guess the competition thread covers the last one))

Award links in your profile should probably link to that competition's results?

This isn't a site bug, but an error in a tutorial
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post it

All the entries regarding texlights tell you to add this line

@PointClass color(255 128 0) = info_texlights : "Texture Light Config"

But it's missing the final "[]" and won't work without them. Might be confusing for some people!

(full line should be:)

@PointClass color(255 128 0) = info_texlights : "Texture Light Config" []

Replace
[quote]function ajax_shout_post()
{
var parameters = "shout="+escape(encodeURI(document.getElementById('shout_box').value));[/quote]
with
[quote]function ajax_shout_post()
{
var parameters = "shout="+escape(encodeURIComponent(document.getElementById('shout_box').value));[/quote]
and TADA! We can write +.

Proof: see my shout.

Here you can see a comparison of encodeURI and encodeURIComponent.
encodeURIComponent pwns encodeURI.

Most likely been mentioned, but noticed it as i cleaned up my journal today.

When you delete your journal, a page appears and says, error journal missing, or something along those lines, and it provides a link: click here dont click back on your browser. Upon clicking that link it goes to all journals page. It wasted about 45 seconds of my life it didnt need to. :P

Minor, minor bug, but a bug nonetheless.
Posted 15 years ago2008-08-18 17:55:03 UTC Post #254032
Yeah...
You really need to take off the thread age restrictions for stickies. Most stickies can't be posted in because the last post was over 3 months ago, so they just sit there at the top doing nothing.

Yeah, I noticed this too. What's the point of the thread staying where you can see it if you can't post in it?

You probably can't call this a bug.

EDIT:

You do not have permission to access this page. What? Why does it show up in the search?

How come you aren't updating the bug list?

When you insert a smiley the cursor changes position.
When you insert a BBCode tag it does not (which is exactly how it should be).

The shoutbox/forum/journal/biography character problem (where many characters doesn't show up/show up as another character or gets replaced by say, ☺) wouldn't exist if you would change
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1" ?>
to
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
(This shouldn't cause any trouble; the TWHL HTTP response headers doesn't specify a character set in Content-Type)
The reason a lot of characters doesn't display correctly in the normal ShoutBOX but does in Shoutbox LIVE is that Shoutbox LIVE doesn't have an "<?xml..." so the browser will assume it's UTF-8.

And also, use encodeURIComponent instead of encodeURI in the ShoutBOX JavaScript code and combined with the above fix ALL the ShoutBOX problems would be solved.

You can't say you don't have time for this, it will only take a minute and make TWHL much less buggy...

I know it was a really really long time ago, but the thing Madcow said about the missing "last login" counter still holds true, and nobody ever responded to him. I know Penguinboy says he isn't taking suggestions for his supposed site recoding, but this has bugged me a whole lot. It was one of the most useful features of user profiles, maybe more important than the login counter.
Posted 14 years ago2009-05-02 20:31:28 UTC Post #266356
I'll put it in the recode, as well as a bunch of other stuff we never got around to doing for the user profile. I actually mentioned that in my newest journal - the one about the recode.

Oh, I didn't notice that. Actually, I still don't notice it, but it's a long journal, so I'm probably just missing it.
