Post your costumes, etc. I'm throwing a Halloween party at our cabin as I almost always do. I'm being the grim reaper this year.

Got a scythe from an antique show.

Also got white body paint to paint my hands and wrists and black nail polish. May also paint my face white and black around the eyes. And I will wear black socks with my black toms. Got the robe at party city for under 20 bucks.

I've been working up the courage all year to go clubbing as Aang, and I don't just mean with a latex cap. I'd do it for reals.

Still not 100% sure.

Nice costume idea Zeeba, although I know a crafty bastard such as yourself could make a much more authentic robe than that thing...

In the past with robed costumes, I've simply got some nice fabric and a pattern from the craft store, and hot glued it together. It sounds dogey, but the result is MUCH nicer than anything you will buy retail! Any cloak or a 6-8 piece Jedi robe with the front closed should work perfectly, plus there are many free pattern designs online you could easily adapt

I would recommend an over-sized hood with a felt or rough polyester material that will flow nicely, something like this from an episode of The Mighty Boosh :)

I was all gung ho to make a HEV suit out of cardboard and multi-colored duct tape(complete with helmet and some fancy LED accent lighting), but meh, I'll probably just recycle an old costume..

Thanks captain. Yea I was highly considering making my robe! But for only 16 bucks and a lack of time I couldn't pass up on it. I'm thinking of getting red or white contacts.

That's a great idea Archie I think tet was that two years ago or last year.

Maybe I could 3d print an HEV suit!

That scythe is sweet btw!

Wish I could come to your party, I bet it will be awesome. Please post some after-party pics for us non-facebook users! :)

go clubbing as Aang
Having just finished re-watching Avatar, I wholeheartedly endorse this idea.

Budget is a bit tight for me at the moment, I'll probably just re-use my labcoat again. Maybe get a bandana and go as Naked Snake.

Decided to be lame this year and be the Big Bad Wolf. Girlie is going as Red Riding Hood.
My costume consists of faux fur hood, ears, mask, and ripped clothes with fur coming out.
I'll post pics when they're done.

Nah that isn't lame at all Tet, classic couples costume!

I don't have a GF atm, but If I did I'd be a T-800 and make her go as Sarah Connor of course :)

Past couple costumes I've done: Batman/Catwomen(gf at the time looked just like Michelle Pfeiffer), and Sailor-Moon/Tuxedo-Mask(I was Sailor Moon, LOL. We were both surprisingly a hit, with people buying us drinks all night!)

I'm trying to get the stuff together to just go as a generic Survey Corps dude from Attack on Titan, I already have the jacket, which while a little tight, is amazing.

If we did the whole Halloween thing over here, my preference would be one of the armor sets from Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. Good quality pictures are hard to come by, but obsoive this gist of an example:

Two things though: A, we don't do the whole Halloween thing over here, and B, if I was to make an MH3U armor, I'd want to do it as for propers as possible, which means requiring more time and resources than I have now.
Don't get me wrong, I have every intention of making MH3U armor, just not for your excuse-to-wear-a-costume-day.

Excuse-to-wear-a-costume-day has it's perks.

Have you seen some of the women's costumes out there? :walter:

@Jessie: Even if there was Halloween over here, nobody knows what Monster Hunter is, so you're screwed either way :P

Though the same can be said about Brendan's Attack on Titan costume. Though I'm not sure how mainstream AoT has gotten in the US, so it might be ok?

There's also comic con... Excuse to wear a costume day? Follows up by reference to God ;) lol.

Halloween is just basically a tradition to celebrate remembering the dead.

Mainly cute girls be liking it PB, some dudes like it too(aka me). Only reason I started watching it was because so many girls were cosplaying as it at ComiCon so I gave it a go, and loved it. I see people wearing AoT hoodies and stuff sometimes.

It's like Doctor Who, it's not widely watched, but a lot of people do know what it is.

, or just the mask. Or be boring and get some face paint. Think I'll be going to some metal club in London for Halloween.

Went down to the local (as in it's in the city, not near me) Military Surplus today. They've good a really good selection of stuff I don't have the budget for.

They were also out of Olive Drab bandannas, but I managed to find one in a design that some might find perhaps more iconic - Tiger Stripe.

The ones behind Scott Pilgrim are Rurouni Kenshin, a cowgirl, and a jellyfish (that one was made literally last minute. It was also raining yesterday.)
