When I create my transparent texture (with an un antialiased 128x128 tree on a blue background (0 0 255) it doesn't work with rendermode 4 for transparency on 255. The only reason I can think of is that wally blurs the edges of the texture when it re-mips it for LOD so it then doesn't work as a transparency. I have used the correct flag too ({blinds). Any ideas?

Nope, this has not to do with blurring edges for mip-maps. The reason is that you gave these transparant parts a blue color, while it's not the color that does it. Once you've put the texture in Wally, you'll need to recolor the transparant parts with the last color from the palette. When you named your texture starting with a {, this color is automatically blue...

So, it's the last color that's transparant, not neccesarily the bleu color... :)

Yay. N1!

I used additive to get around it but now I understand. Cheers! :D

Also, if it's antialiased with blue... then it'll have a blue fringe.

As Wally says, Half-Life textures do not sport flags. The first character identifies their type.

{ Transparent mask
! Water
