I find now that when i sometimes after i compile it says it cannot find basically everything its looking for. But when i fixed the leak that was in the map everything worked again. Is there a way to find out where your map is leaking from? or how to fix any errors?

use the pointfile. hammer 3.5 has it in the 3d view, but you can also type pointfile in the console (make sure developer is on mind). with both simply follow the line till you see it go from the void to the inside of your map. the hole it goes through its your leak.
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-27 17:45:02 UTC Post #36974
where do i find pointfile at in the program? Also how would i go about fixing the leak?
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-27 17:49:15 UTC Post #36977
to fix the leak, just either move the ntity in the void back into the map or close up the hole in the map with a brush.

to activate pointfile just choose "load pointfile" then the mapname.pts in the toools menu or type "pointfile" in the console when developer is set to 1

I find it easier to do in HL, the hammer one gets me confused in medium-to-big maps.

Mapster version 0.3.2b
Welcome to the first public testing of Mapster!

Updated version! Fixes small bug in netvis path. If you are using
0.3.1b, you will need to manually set your zoners path. Better yet,
update to 0.3.2b and use the fixed version!

basically, where it first says error: it looks like you've got two brushes tied to a single entity (or 1 world brush and another entity brush) with the same texture !WATERBLUE . where you've put water is a good place to start looking. mixed face contents is your actual error, normally caused by using a texture designed for a specific purpose in conjunction with another texture/entity that it cannot be used with. a good example is making a func_wall out of the clip texture, it doesn't like that at all.

but what might be the problem, is where you have made a brush into func_water, you must remember to texture the whole brush with the water texture.

in hammer, press Alt+P to check for problems (although this won't bring up your error neccesarily).

You can't have !WATERBLUE with a normal texture, either, like you can't have a brush with the GENERIC015k texture and have three sides
!WATERBLUE. Even if it isn't a func_water. It can't find netvis, too.
