If i am behind a wall on my level, somehow the other people can see and shoot me through the wall. This happens in the sniping towers as well as the bunkers, anywhere there is a wall. The editor i am using is Worldcraft. Can somebody please help me?

can you be more specific about that?

have you read the beginner tutorials on this site?

if you know stuff about mapping, answer me these questions three:
1: This is for what MOD?

2: Are your walls entities?

3: are the people you are playing with cheating?

the problem is hard to explain, there are a few mappers in this room and we cant figure it out.
if i am standing against the wall of my bunker and someone is outside, straight across the level, they can see and shoot me through the wall

i am playing on a lan at work
they are not cheating
the walls are not entities
it is for cstrike

How far away are you? After like 4096 units by default the, the engine stops drawing faces. Or maybe the walls are very thin. You can change the max view distance, but idk if it really helps.

CS's physics allow you to shoot through some walls. Try double-layered walls, I think that works.

Get Hammer from the Valve Collective. The editor you are using is out-of-date.

they are across the level from the wall (tripple layered by the way)

i will get the screenshot in a sec...

and i have hammer, i just called it worldcraft cause everybody else seems to call it that

like seventh siad, CS is coded to allow bullets through a certain distance through different materials. eg - bullets travel further (and faster) through wood(crates) than concrete or brick.

Are they bots you are playing against? It is actually quite common with bots.

If you stand where they shoot from can you see the wall? If you can't, and you are playing against bots, it has nothing to do with your mapping, but the bots.

If this is against real people, then ban the bastard doing it!

He still hasn't said the distance. It's likely a long distance, like i suggested way up there^^, and there's nothing that can be done about seeing through it. However, what seventh said might fix the shooting through the wall problem.

.-. ANSWER .-. =D If you, or anyone, is standing right next to a wall, under certain curcumstances they will be able to see you behind it. no hax or anything, just a glitch. Ive seen it and many other have i know (never hacked) and it is a commen glitch on certain maps. try maybe hollowing it if its a specific wall. (bad advise? dunno) otherwise nothing can really be done besides thicken it or double layer it or something of that sort

right. you guys need to read posts before you randomly give bad advice.

he answered most/all of your questions within the first few posts.

basically. if you're using sniper rifles i imagine that you've made the level rather big yes? firstly, go to Map / Map Properties / Max Viewable Distance (in Hammer, duh)and change the number 4096 to 8192 (that's double for all you 'tards). now see if that has any effect.

If that didn't work then you've done something to your wall which must be addressed. make the wall 32 or 64 units thick (ideally 4 brushes each 16 units, most awps can only shoot through 3-4 walls, after that they don't do much damage, when they are placed close like this you can get make walls pretty much impenatrable to most guns.
the wall cannot be an entity, because you might have pissed up the render modes.

thirdly make sure the wall is higher than the player, because if he can see your head, then he can guess where your body is (!)

finally, it shouldn't be that hard to create an fy_map. so delete this one and start again if teh problem persists
