First-person weapon models designed to fit in with Half-Life's art style!
The models themselves are based on the originals but, most have been completely re-worked. Better meshes, UV maps and new animations!
The arm models are fixed up versions of the HD arms.

Release I
  • Crowbar
  • Glock
  • Hand grenades
  • Shotgun
Release II
  • MP5
  • Python
Release III
  • Tweaks to models & animations
  • New shotgun animations
  • Better Python normals
As a bonus: the crowbar color is customizable.
It matches up with your custom player color that can be set in the multiplayer options menu.

This pack is NOT finished! I'll be taking breaks from working on it and coming back occasionally.
Expect the weapons to come in groups, and in the order they show up in the original campaign.
Opposing Force & Blue Shift versions are in the works, too. The arm rigs just need some work.

Until I finish the pack, I'd recommend using this along side Overfloater's HD arms with LD models:

Looking great as usual! Really like how you managed to retain almost if not all of the original weapons’s artstyle and feel yet managed to make them look better. The crowbar’s head looks a bit like some birds’ feet though.

I like everything except the shotgun. The rack on top gives it a massive difference between the V model and the p model. I also don't really like the reload animation, the way Gordon is holding the shells looks weird. You can't even see the shells. I do really like that we now have a detailed tip of the crowbar, though, I've been looking for that. The new sound for pulling the pin out of the grenade is really satisfying, and so is the new draw animation. Reminds me of the way he bounces it in Black Mesa. I also like how you have three different clips for the pistol, depending on if it's a partial or a full reload. Super good. My only suggestion would be to alter the shotgun model. Otherwise, good job.

Thanks for the feedback! :) I have a new shotgun reload animation in the works; it'll be much closer to the original view model reload. I'll also provide an optional version without the rack. My intent is to edit the player & world models so that everything matches, but, that's low priority at the moment.

A lot of these are great but the glock and the MP5 look a little off in game. They're missing the trick Valve used to counter the fisheye lens effect in Half-Life, making the barrel end of the model larger. As it stands the barrel of the MP5 and Glock in this pack look a little small in game. The 357 and Shotgun are perfect examples of what I mean. They look great.

The transparent texture for the holes on the shotgun looks a bit bad, I would rather see some low poly holes but I think there should not be a problem with more polygons. Half-Life originally doesn't have models with transparent textures too, since transparent textures for models were added to the engine with a certain patch.

The field of view trick was probably more useful back in the day when monitors were very small, since if you used a natural field of view on a small monitor, as in the game looking like the real world, you would end up with a tiny field of view and see very little of the world. Nowadays when many people have big monitors, setting the field of view to a realistic one should get rid of things looking small. Not for me though, I'm stuck with a 17 inch one right now.

Impressive. I really like the effort you putted into weapons model that replicates Classic looks into Gearbox HD Style even though I don't like the Gearbox Hand Sleeve but I still appreciate how the Hand Sleeves kinda fitted into Classic Style. Oh Btw are these Weapons Animations are made by yourself in blender?

Yep! They're animated by me in Blender.
