No. Marriage was not brought by the Christian people. It has been practised since long before Jesus and is practised all over the world by people of most religions and by atheists.
Even if it was a Christian invention every Christian has his own idea of God's intentions and how to follow the holy texts. There are many homosexual or bisexual Christians.
A state must never intentionally follow religious rules. For religion is speculation and made-up stories. Tolerable but not to be forced on people.

Too much legal and political stuff. I don't know all that much about the American political system. I couldn't finish reading it. I'll just say that anyone who wants do deny someone else the right to marry needs to rethink.
