Wow thanks for the nice reviews you all make me feel proud! = P

Daubster: I agree with the SCVs, but there aren't a lot of good pictures of them, so i improvised a bit! I dunno if i'll update this map, but i'll sure try that clipnode thing if i run out again. And yeah, i was totally guna make the turets pop up and shoot at you, plus use the audio i ripped from the game, but like lots of other things i ran out of time/motivation. I also wanted to add the building sounds when the player touched them too, but i forgot. Anyway thanks so much again for the review. = )

Saw1833: Thanks Fella i appreciate the nice words and rating! = D

Zeeba: Thanks! I'm sorry you didn't place with your entry after all your hard work... i hope you keep entering compos becuase i enjoyed your entries thoughtful construction very much. I agree with you about the texturing, much of it is questionable at best. If i would have took a little time making custom textures rather than searching the HL.wad for suitable substitues, i would have been MUCH better off. Thank you very much again for you comments! = P

SpaG: Wow thank you! I appreciate your comments quite a lot! = )

Pretty neat.

Excellent detailing at the beginning of the map, and the rest of the map is very nicely constructed. I wish i had the patience to actually go through the jumping course, but i just don't have the patience. (i noclipped through most of the map, and found the layout and construction quite impressive.

I'm going 5 stars for superb general mapping. Good job, and i hope you make some more maps! (Maybe some non-climbing ones?)

= )

Well, the only thing that i could'nt do was enemies. In the original game, the level is crowded with Vorticons (big rat-ish creatures) I left those out because its way to complex to fake each individual enemy.

I would definitely take this further if i could get a coder, modeller and texture artist...

@hl_hotdog: haha, that's what usually happens to me. Whenever i am really busy or have something important to do, a compo pops up. So i end up not entering it. Would be fun to participate in it though.

Helping you cheat at mazes only makes level design more awesome.

PLEASE write the cordon tool tutorial. I even didn't know it's possible to compile only parts of the map .

This was a funny game to choose to remake because its sooo old school. It was neat and the sounds were kewl but their wasn't much to do besides collect stuff though I guess thats all you do in the real game. It would be cool if you took this further and made more interactivity with mind puzzles and more levels and stuff.

Well, there isn't any smoke or ash filling the air anymore, thankfully. The fire is still going, but it's moved away from where we are, and is %90 contained... so I think everybody's forgotten about it. :P

Dang nab it!!! You really badly timed this comp!! I was in the middle of an interstate move so I didn't have the time to map properly. :( Never mind... I'll kick ass next time :P

Also, if you're running high on clipnodes, you may want to consider using BEVEL instead of NULL. Same effect, plus less clipnodes.

Read up:
BEVEL

Hm.. Always wondered what the .lin files did :D

Didn't know it had two types.

Goldsource pointfiles dont work very well at all
Actually, they do. As long as you don't use the .pts file, but the .lin file. It'll guide you straight to the leak (the hole that is).

Strider, that's not the reason we're moving at all... lol. It's more about some family issues, inability to afford the house we're living in now, and being in a kinda sucky location (we have to drive a while to get to stores, businesses, etc.) It had been planned long before the fire happened. Also, I'm pretty sure the fires were nowhere near as close to our house as I first thought them to be, and our lives were certainly never in danger. It looked pretty bad at the time, but I think all that was destroyed were a couple trailers way up in the mountains.
