58 megabytes. That's how big all those WADs are. Fortunately, the map only uses ONE custom texture (nm_metal6 from neilm2.wad). I have added that WAD to the download and modified the BSP using a hex editor so the map can finally be played after all these years, without any texture or WAD errors. I have left a backup of the original .bsp in the download, too.

No. Trust the engineer (Tetsu0). They are tetrahedrons (tetra hedron - four faces).
A tetragon is something entirely different, it's a 2D shape with four edges (tetra gon - four angles). Squares and rectangles are examples of tetragons.

The download is no longer available. The one at Thinking With Portals isn't working either. Do you still have this, Les? TWHL supports 16MB uploads these days.
A nice little map, I really like the look of it (you took the screenie in the least interesting place haha)! I had forgotten how hard it can be to aim in side-scrolling Flat-Life though!

I have added a modified version of the map to the download, that doesn't require tfc.wad or tfc2.wad. The map never used any textures from those WADs so it was a simple matter of replacing references to those WAD files with references to halflife.wad using a hex editor.

If you want to play the "Acceleration" half of this map and the game crashes with "ED_Alloc: no free edicts", add
-num_edicts 1500
to the game's launch options or add
edicts "1500"
to liblist.gam.
Also note that although this map only works in multi-player (it has no info_player_starts) it only has two spawn points and doesn't appear to be made for playing with lots of people.
That said, I think it's a pretty neat little map for practicing bunny hopping, even though I don't enjoy bunny hopping.

Thanks It looks like you forgot the .bsp, too. Things are moving in the right direction, though Does the map have any relation to the film with the same name?

This Vault item was originally for mg_quake_dmc_b2. The download died and I was unable to find an exact replacement, so I replaced it with a link to mg_quake_dmc_b5 which is a later version of the same map and I updated the title. I hope that's okay, Fi3nD?

This is in fact a map for HLDM (Half-Life Deathmatch - in other words, the multiplayer mode of regular Half-Life). I have read other comments from HLGenius and they thought HLDM or Half-Life Deathmatch meant Deathmatch Classic, which this map is not for. It's a common mistake.

According to RESGen, smoe_cm2.wad was one of the WADs you used. However, RESGen got it wrong. I think the problem is caused by RESGen being a little simple and by the old compile tools you used not removing references to WAD files you were not using (but were loaded in Hammer when the .map was saved).
Sorry about that mistake. I have removed that WAD now. I have restored a lot of broken downloads over the last year and a half and many of the downloads from sites like GameFront have crashed when I test them, because of missing WADs or models. So I started running RESGen to detect missing WADs, but I stopped soon after when I noticed this issue.
By the way, why did you call the map Cabbage? The map feels like a Deus Ex level

Different standards in different companies or countries I suppose.
Flying seems so fun. I wonder if I could fly a little private plane despite being afraid of heights (I don't mind traveling by commercial airplane but Ferris wheels scare the life out of me)

Best of luck to you! It seems like an interesting job. Make sure you vision is good enough if you haven't thought of that already, I understand the requirements for commercial pilots are quite strict. An old acquaintance had to get laser eye surgery before he could get his license.

Are you specifically interested in that remote, or could you use a universal remote?
LIRC has configuration files for a bunch of Sony devices with similar names. Not RM-S5 specifically but I think the manufacturers reuse a lot of codes so they could be largely compatible https://www.lirc.org/
AFAIK we don't have a lot of electronics nerds here, but Stojke might know about these things

The basic idea is correct but the "also better" example is flawed: If you jump up (in low gravity for example) then some of the cliffs you should be able to see are behind a sky brush. You should never allow the player to get in a position where brushes are positioned on the other side of the sky. It's illogical and often causes visual glitches

The map is not completely black. It's almost fullbright. False advertising.
That rainbow sign in the middle in the screenshot? It doesn't load. I think you included the wrong version of your WAD. WARNING: texture lump "-!?.-_m6" not found

The external download has been down for years: I am replacing it with the relevant files from http://gamer-lab.com/rus/mods_goldsrc/Flat-life_1.2 , I hope that's okay.
It sucks to look through the vault and see maps without screenshots
