I used to do a lot of word processing for a local community group (nice of me, eh?). One of the guys was dyslexic and used to give me hand written letters he wanted typed up. I noticed it was mostly words that don't look like they sound, like "though". It wasn't incomprehensible, so I wouldnt say dyslexias that bad (look at einstein!). I blame the stupidity of the english mixing all the old dialects into one common language. and Steam. I blame steam very much. :P

ED-209 was indeed cool looking. Can't say the same for Stephen Hawking.
Also ED-209 has never published a book only to backtrack on his stance about black holes never realising matter back into the universe after I bought it. The git.

This might be a dumb question and straying a little, but is it possible to teleport or anything so that you pass the same brushes continiously, a la Scooby Doo? Always wondered that.

Listening to the radio at work all day, I have noticed that all pop songs use the same generic lyrics. Por ejemplo:

"all day and all night"/"make me feel alright" (normally referring to the party thats always happening or some luvin')
"woohoo....yeeaaah"(found in pop/metal songs)
"up in the sky"/"way up high" (normally in dance tracks in a poor attempt to sound profound)

any others?

in The TWHL FAQ Post #49784
I think it would be a great idea to condense all the knowledge of the TWHL regulars into one big-ass FAQ.

I was wondering if all these good, helping souls could post the questions frequently asked by beginners and their answers (or maybe more complicated problems asked by other members).

Any frequently asked questions and problems with answer, (which isnt covered by the tutorials here).

WARNING: This is a spam/discussion-free thread. Keep to the topic as it will be monitored and edited heavy at the discretion of Seventh-Monkey.

in Prefabs Post #49776
But I thought TWHL was about learning/teaching and creating. Making ready made things for others to fill their maps with doesnt help anyone. That said, theres nothing wrong with LOOKING at other peoples prefabs, but I think that using them is a bit weak (plus they'd stand out like a sore thumb in maps I do, as they'd be higher quality :P )

I must say that I'm terrified of foreigners like Jahzel being more articulate in my native tongue than I am. And you construct a sentance damn well. I shall not being arguing with you if I can help it since you could talk me under the table. It probably has to do with your learning the language as opposed to simply being immersed in it as a native language.

With that said I still don't see WHY you came into that discussion 'guns a blazin' like you did.

I know that this is further down the line, but I was wondering about permissions: I could obviously paraphrase the person asking the question but I'd like to get the permissions of all contributors, some of whom are no longer here.

Would that involve forwarding my intentions or since the forum is in TWHL is that covered under atom/andy?

oh right (and of course primitive was also the wrong word). You probably COULD find someone elses prefabs and use them, but all your learning is how to cut and paste.

or just MAKE a light yourself! A light is a primitive so wouldnt necessitate a prefab since its already THERE.

The general mapping questions section has 50 pages and 2000 something threads. I was just thinking that the inneffable wisdom contained therein could be condensed into one big FAQ (basically the questions and answers WITHOUT the spamming and flaming). I suppose it'd take a while but It'd be a good addition to the site and save the same question being asked repeatly (ok, so lazy noobs probably still would ask!) in new threads. What do you think?

right, goin to try it this evening when I get home.
If I'm not online on later the night then the HD is truly screwed.
Heres what im gonna try then,
1. Boot disk (should work)
2. Screwdriver (take the HD out and give its leads and bits a good cleaning.
3. Some priests (To exorcise it if all else fails)
