If I understand what your saying your searching in hammer for 'cs_office' in the textures screen. The actual textures may not have 'cs_office' in the name. Try searching for just 'cs' or just look through all the textures without typing anything in the search box.

Get this: Secret passwords around the level will allow you to view original concept art work as well as some old versions of my models that weren't included so you can play the game the way it was originally designed to look. I already have 3 different versions of this Hgrunt model and I believe this to be the last. Who knows though. :)

--Dr. Henderson's blog--
--Day 1--
--The system crash--

?Hey Pete.? I said, darting out of my chair. ?Cheer up buddy.?

?I?ll cheer up when I actually have an eventful day for once in my life.?

?Hey,? I said ?Careful what you wish for. For all you know an eventful day in Black Mesa could mean anything from an explosion to a chemical leak.?

?It would still make a change.?

We reached the security desk at the front of hour sector. The lobby of sector A was one of the most attractive. Much older than sector C, sector A was built when the facility had a bigger budget. The glass doors at the front led to the transit system and all day you could see people going back and forth on the trams through the windows. About half way from the door to the desk 2 structural pillars shot up from the floor into the ceiling. They were lined with marble tiles, which were as clear as a bathroom mirror. Where the floor would be cheap lino in sector C here it was tiled. Dark black tiles that always looked wet and reflected the entire room upside down.

Officer Mitchell, the guard behind the desk was on the phone. Dr. Wilson was behind him with a younger scientist, possibly another trainee. Mitchell put the phone down and turned on his swivel chair to face Wilson.

?Sector C says the systems there haven?t been affected. The experiment is already underway. They?re just waiting for their research assistant to get over there from the dorms.?

?Very well.? Wilson gestured the younger scientist over and they disappeared through the door to the left the desk back into the labs. The offices were through a door to the right.

?Got your flashlight Joe.? Said Pete, handing it across the desk.

?Oh, thanks buddy.? Mitchell looked up. ?What time are you on till??

?Six tonight.? Said Pete

?Catch me later and I?ll buy you a beer.? Mitchell?s face disappeared behind a copy of the Black Mesa times.

Suddenly the ground started to tremor. The lights hanging from the ceiling started to sway slightly. They flickered on and off.

?What the Hell?? I asked

?Probably just a tram going by. Happens all the time.? Mitchell said, not looking up from his paper.

?Wait,? Pete was looking at the Tram timetable. ?There isn?t one due to Sector A for 2 more hours for the lunch run.?

The ground shook again, more drastically this time. Green lights were flickering from outside the glass doors and a shadow bolted across the platform outside.

?What?s going on?? I asked

Another jolt and the marble tiles shattered off one of the pillars as it buckled, dropping dust from the concrete supports above.

?We gotta get out of here.? Said Mitchell as he darted up from his seat.

?Where can we go?? yelled Pete

A) Run to the tram platform

B) Run to the offices

C) Run to the labs

D) Stay put.

Short I know but I gotta get ready for work.

I know it may seem illogical but those smart guns are heavy.

By the way, the story is good and the description is excellent but at one point you switched the writing style. First you were telling the story in the third person (saying 'they' and using Ryan's name) but then for 1 paragraph you switched and said "we had only touched down...etc etc" in the first person. Just a note.

the assassins are also the governments doing when the military's cover up failed. (both use some of the same weapons)
The Black Ops are in a higher devision than the military but they are both the governments doing. The military failed to cover up the disaster so an even more elite team had to be dispatched to silence them as well. The Black Ops brought the Nuke in with them and the G-Man re-armed it because he had already led Freeman to safety. He was simply cleaning up the mess that everyone had made in all the chaos.

As for the actual topic of this thread, if you were to reskin the gman's textures onto a scientist model or a zombie model it would look awful. The mesh is entirely different and the textures would be all over the place. The best thing to do would be to add the gmans mesh to the scientist skeleton in Ms3D or somthing but the zombie one...well...that would just look ridiculous.

Trying to remember the names.

kleinerslab.bnk
tunnels.bnk (i think. That one was good cos it showed off the Hydra)
striders.bnk
traptown.bnk

I can't remember most of them now.

oh oh, barricade.bnk was my favourite.

Google it - HL2 bink videos.

some are new and some are old.

The Glasses are not that grotty no. They have got writing and icons on them. I used MSPaint to compress the image. I know, I'm an idiot.

Might take a while to get some more pics up because the networks being a little bitch and ignoring my computer! I hate networking.

Ok the story:

Originally the idea was to have it based in a military base and the player was a rebel mercinary trying to overthrough an overpowering force that had taken over the world and enslaved the human race. Then i thought, "Why am I making HL2 in the HL1 engine!?" SO its changed and the best way I can explain it (without spoiling the twists I have planned) is this.

Urban.Inc. is a major company that owns everything in Skyline City. It controls the people's daily routines right down to their clothing. (Note: the grey jacket and pants with the SLC (SkyLine City) initials.)

SkyLine city itself is built as a Eutopia for the rich and powerful, set on a gravity defying disk hovering just above the cloud line and built entirely by Urban.Inc. the City protects its citizens from the creatures that are growing ever more ghastly in the world below.

Think of it this way. The story goes something like Final Fantasy 7 merged with Half-Life 2. SkyLine City is Midgar, Urban.Inc. is the Shinra corperation.

No concepts of the entire city have been created yet but I believe this will give a general example
User posted image
[Midgar from FF7]

Also as I mentioned in "THE NEW URBANEBULA" the game will be released chapter by chapter and at the end of each short burst will be a choice like in my fan fictions. Then a thread will be dedicated to the mod on my forum for the players to make choices. The next chapter will then be created using the players desicions. Nifty eh?

Being generally unlucky in every aspect of my life means that I never expect to be recognised for anything I do. I am 19 years old and next week I start my first full-time job as an (get this) 'Administrator' (he he he)

The thing is I don't want publicity. The way I see things is the more people you know, the more shit that gets put around about you. Take a look at the modern day celebrity for instance. Thousands of people know them but don't actually know them. They are not all there friends. The rumours are catastrophic and they can barely hold themselves together let alone any decent relationship. I have only 5 really close friends and thats fine by me. They're all the greatest people I know. I love my girlfriend and I one day hope to start a family. If I can be appreciated by that small group of people (my friends and my family) I can die happy.

Mapping is my hobby, I don't care about getting good reviews, Hell, I barely care about what other people think of them. I also enjoy jogging but I don't want people telling me that I'm doing it wrong. I'll do it the way I bloody well like. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind constructive critisism (It makes my life easier when it comes to mapping). I love being able to sit down and craft my own world in a way. Its a real escape from the bordom of unemployed teenage life. But as I said earlier that is about to change.

Unbreakable - I guess I'm a different sort of person from you however I'm rarely around here since I finished college and I never got time to get to know you or appreciate your work. However I have read a fewof your posts and they all (including the recent insulting one directed at me, but with due cause) make you seem like a decent hard working guy.

I wish you nothing but the best of luck. ;)

See you around

I know its taken bloody ages for me to post. This part was done about a week ago. Trying to access the net has been murder.

--Dr. Henderson's blog--
--Day 1--
--The system crash--

The automatic door squeaked and moaned against its rollers as it was opened by hand. A beam of light cut through the darkness as Peter returned to his desk with a flashlight.

"No lights out there either then?" I said, despite the fact that I already knew the answer.

"Well," he said, leaning backwards on his leather desk chair "Dr. Wilson says its probably just a power cut but I overheard somone say that the trams have stopped on the entire northbound sector of the facility."

"What about the Sector C Test Labs?" I asked, not really caring at all.

"I don't know. Nobody can get in touch with them." Peter turned his chair to face his blank computer screen. He placed the flashlight on his desk, shining onto the right hand side of his keyboard which created a line of black trapezium shapes on the wall on his left. He looked at them and smiled. Pushing his keyboard back he placed his hands infront of the beam of light and proceeded to amuse himself by making shodow puppets on the wall. "Mind you I doubt this experiment will be different from any other."

"What do you mean?" I asked

"We'll give them the technical data they need, some other guy will send the sample up, some bottom rate research assistant will help out with the practical work and the senior professors at Sector C will take all the credit." He slumped back in his chair and looked up to the ceiling. "We won't even know how it goes. They'll just call us up in 2 days time and ask us to do the same thing again."

"So basically you hate your job?" I said "You want to be higher up."

"Well yeah," Peter launched himself back up straight and stared me in the face. "Each month when I get my 3 days outside of this place I always go to this little bar down the road from my crappy apartment and there is always a couple of my best buddies there."

"So?" I said, waiting for the point of his rant.

"So," his tone was sharp "they all talk about the stuff they do all day at work or at home."

"So?"

"Would you give me a break and just listen?" Peter was obviously hung up on something. "I've lived in this underground laboratory for 329 days for each of the past 4 years. I type information I don't even understand from a sheet into a computer, call up some brainy science jockey to tell them what the computer tells me and then I hear nothing more of it. When my friends ask me what I do all day all I can say is 'I don't really know' and they always look at me like I'm a lunatic."

"If your unhappy just leave." It wasn't really helpful comment but its all i had.

"I tried that. I wanted to go into selling insurance." he said, his head was in his hands "When I told them I used to work at Black Mesa they basically said I was overqualified and that they couldn't afford to pay for my services. Nobody feels liable to take on an ex-BMRF employee because of the wages they pay here. Not even Micros-"

He was interupted by an electrical hum. The lights flickered back on and the computers beeped as they loaded the boot records.

"Hey." I said, in the light I could see his sad expression "Are you alright?"

"All I need is a change." he said "I want something different to happen someday. I want action and adventure."

"I know." I didn't know at all. I'd only been here for 6 months and the thought of working in a high security underground lab still excited me. It was just to put his mind at ease.

"I'm gonna take this thing back." He waved the flashlight as he got out of his seat and headed for the door.

I thought about what I could do.

A) Go with Peter and try and cheer him up

B) Let him go and sort himself out while the computers are booting

C) Get more coffee

D) Go and talk to Dr. Wilson and find out whats going on with the rest of the facility

(ok guys, remember that the disaster is imminant so wherever Henderson ends up in the next section will seriously affect his situation when it hits)
