Yes, almost all maps have their own wads, but most of the textures in cstrike aren't in them. The individual wad files only contain unique features for that map, ie signs, plants and shit. The collective textures (walls, ground, you name it) are in cs_bdog.wad and halflife.wad.
You so wrong, srry. It's steamsteamappscounter-strike.gcf. Most of Cstrike's textures are in cs_bdog.wad. Some specific ones (for, for example cs_assault, office, etc) are located in their specific wad, but most are indeed in cs_bdog, also home of the de_train textures.
IIRC most of the counter-strike textures are in cs_bdog.wad or whatever its name is. Look around in the Counter-strike Wads, located in steamsteamappscounter-strike.gcf.
I think it's the other way around, srry... In the WON version, music played off the CD and could be played without touching the game itself. In Steam, music plays as MP3s in a GCF-file.
trooper: Just figure a way out so the entire area you want to have music is in one map.
Well, that's sort of a no-brainer, Elon. No one's claiming things to happen "out of nowhere", that'd be pretty silly.
I really think we need a set definition of "random" here, because everyone seems to have their own appreciation of the word. "Lacking any definite plan or order or purpose" was the first one I found.
And your example with non-random rain and volcano eruptions sort of fit my thoughts about free will too. Since all of our actions are dictated by something else, be it our previous experiences or anything else, how can it be called "free will"? We're bound to do whatever our experience tells us.
The thing is, what determines our actions? We evaluate the situation and act according to previous experiences - chemicals in our brain react and send nerve impulses. If any free will would exist, IE it's not based of previous experiences, then it would be purely random. If choice 1 and choice 2 are exactly as good and our previous experiences don't dictate our choice, then the outcome is just random.
Uh, define random. Without purpose? Without intelligence behind our creation, how could it be anything but purposeless? In fact, define purpose - some sort of plan for everything in the universe?
No, we don't have a purpose. Well, I agree with you that free will is an illusion (after all, the only thing that dictates future actions is previous experience) so I guess you could call everything "random". But the word isn't really fit to describe the universe. I see where you're coming from, though.
It boils down to "either we don't have a purpose, or you believe in intelligent design". Simple as that.
How about getting a decent media player like VLC or my personal favourite Media Player Classic (has nothing to do with Windows Media Player)? And why on earth did you get WMP11? From what I've heard, the only new "additions" since previous versions is a shinier UI and heavier DRM. Microsoft... gawd, they're really going down the shitter recently.
Dave, are you trying to look stupid or were just born like that?
trooperdx3117, you're missing the fact that Dawn of War was exactly like Company of Heroes, except more Warhammer and less bombs. Made by the same company, too. The idea with zones and territorial combat isn't new either - if I remember correctly (which I don't, I haven't even played the game), Ground Control featured the same type of territorial combat, except GC didn't have any base building at all. I'm sure games before it have the same concept, too. My point is: Company of Heroes isn't very innovative, but it certainly does what one would expect very well.
I use pretty much the same as Ant, haven't had a virus or spyware problem for as long as I can remember. A big factor might just be not downloading .mp3.exes of Kazaa and/or not using internet explorer.
My vsmon takes 30~ish MB of memory pretty much constantly... never really bothered me, I have some to spare. I'm guessing ScanningProcess.exe is the culprit here - if ZA isn't actually scanning, why are they running? I suggest you get rid of that "suite" crap and get ZA Pro from some formidable place, like, oh I don't know, the internets.
