Eventually some kind of comprimise'll happen. Mark my words.
And let's hope it won't be DRM-infested bloat-ware that controls our every move. Unfortunately, that seems to be where we're going with Vista.

Rebel against the system! Steal a song! Woot woot says the warez train!

Elon Yariv is such a dick. :(

CoH was great. Tonnes better than DoW, if you ask me... you just can't go wrong with artillery.

Good luck with the comic, I'm expecting it to turn out great.

Copyright laws are dickfucked (it's a word). I say break them as often as you can. Seriously, they were better when they were written in the 18th century - now Disney among others've shat them up good.

Don't forget that punctuation and commas now.
But yeah, that's a good idea, mapping from base = fun.

Let's hope they make a PC version a li'l sooner than a year from the console release now, eh? Damn PC-haters at Rockstar. Never the less, one of the best game series of all times.

Anyone else noticed?;

Hum... Larry... Laaaaaaaaaaaarry... Rings a big bell. This isn't the first time you posted your comics here, is it? Only you posted them under a different name before? In any case, I've definitely read some of your stuff before, I'm sure of it. Possibly on PHW... bleh. Whatever. Welcome.

Excellent comic. >:3 >:3 >:3
Superb posing, editing and effects. Some minor grammar and spelling errors.
It was a bit hard to keep track of what was going on at times, but the >:3s were awesome and the cyclops ruled. Ripped from Dark Messiah, I assume? Anyhow, very well done.

I had no problems with the many large images. I'm guessing Orph and his ilk will bitch about it, but they really don't have a clue, ignore them. The images are fine, it's a comic gawd damn it.

I would agree that there's not enough positive news and way, waaaaay too much sensationalism (and gossip) but the media still have an obligation to report news, no matter if they're stupid and senseless :P . I think the big networks are quite selective about what they tell us, and what they tell us really does matter; for most people, me included, the media shapes our view of the world and doing so affects our opinions and beliefs.

I think Dave93's 9th question was the most important: do other games run fine?

Well, what'd you expect? Media and especially news coverage has turned shit-cocks all over the world in general and in the US in particular. It's not a race to inform people, it's a race to get viewers - period. No obligations, no real journalism, just sensationalism to the bone. It sucks.

To be honest, I'm quite happy we've got state-sponsored television and news coverage here. I kind of trust it.

By the way, I saw this story on, low and behold, 4chan first. 4chan ftw.

Cycler_sprites can be used for models. Yes, it says .spr, but enter the model path and it'll work. Cyclers are not solid, by the way.

For the record, monster_furniture and monster_generic don't work in CS.

If you have Half-Life activated, just double click on the icon saying "Opposing force" in the "my games" list.

To activate half-life, go to games -> activate a product on steam.

Uh... get steam, if you don't have it. Through steam, you can get all of Valve's games and stuff, and yes, opposing force for free, if you own half-life.

Odd. Maybe there's a tiny non-black line at the top of the sprite? I mean, it could be really really really dark, just not black, and show up in-game. Make sure it's balackalack. Other than that, I have no clue.

The texture I used was not a !texture. Blocks with !textures will automatically null out every face except the top. I used a func_illusionary with a non-! water texture, and placed an invisible func_water over it.

Run Memtest and other diagnostic tools. This is extremely useful. I'm not sure exactly how far you get before the comp restarts (techguy.org isn't loading, info plz) but if you can boot a cd, run this. It'll help.
