Let me tell you first-hand, that you're never going to convince any westerners of anything as long as you stick to your current method of pissing on, deriding, and otherwise pidgeonholing all americans into one lot. Please don't interpret my comments as genuinely reflecting upon all Americans, as I've said. Less agressive and unpleasant American actions are, though, of course, more publicised (as they are for all countries). I'm well aware that the United States is an extremely diverse country, and would never try to group its entire population into one category.
No the Leaders of the country do all that stuff you might think is mean, which is about less than 1% of the population.Yeah, it's not as if they were duly elected by the populace, eh? It's a pretty critical point.
We're doing this to keep from having another 9/11.Oh yeah! That's right, because Iraq, with its six .22 bullets and air balloon, was going to launch a massive terrorist attack on the U.S., as a state! Stop it. As a country, you murder eight times as many American civilians every year than the events of September the 11th. Maybe you're the terrorist state?
I take back everything I said before about the US besides it being a nice place to live. We suck. That was a rather sudden change of an opinion? You're quite the environmentalist, then?
9/11 scares me, simply because all the conspiracy stories around it seem highly plausible. It all comes down to the fact that war = money. It scares me on the grounds that the majority of the American public are now willing to do anything that Bush and his cronies decide is good for them just as long as they mention the words "security" and "terrorism" in a sentence. What next, "Mah fellow merkins: to protect our great nation, it is clearly our sad duty in the eyes of god to remove all middle-eastern people from this Earth as they are harbouring terrorists."?
On the flip side, though, you have to realize that a lot of the faults directed at us from other countries are sometimes stereotypical as well. (ie, all Americans are fat and stupid and republicans.) There's a lot of liberal Americans these days, and they're intelligent. There's a lot of nice Americans. We (as people, anyway) aren't terribly different from the UK or Australia, I suppose. It's all in the governments and political views.I don't think anyone who is setting forth these stereotypes against you really needs a response. Nobody who is actually interested in the discussion would post it. I think a lot of people think of the Americans a generally a friendly bunch. I do.
It seems the ancient punishment worked better than an Asbo. Cynewulf was taken off the cross last week and is now behaving himself, said the game's creator RedBedlam.Heh, heh.
Do we include the origional map, and then have a destruction levelchange where the player must then work his way back, or do we just destroy the hell outa the thing?Your choice, really. It's not that restricted.
This compo is to take an area and make it look like something just destroyed the hell out of it. If Kas hadn't made a complex map, what would you have destroyed?Good point :D.
All custom textures should be -wadincludedNo restriction on using custom textures. You're only limited to an underground base if you lack imagination :|.
you should add the term 'trim' to the glossary. It absolutely amazed me that Habboi didn't know what one was a few days ago..What, you mean "a decorative surround"?
Also, never heard of people flocking to Britain? There're thousands of immigrants emigrating to britain every year - in fact this is the case with all industrial countries - america isn't uniqe with this in any way.Indeed. In 2004, 140 000 people emigrated to Britain.
It's not that simple Zombie. My claim is that we're so much bigger, you can't compare them per 1000 people. The net population is a factor you're conveniently avoiding.Er... do you not understand "per 1000 people"?
You're saying the US population increased by 98 million in 6 years?<actually laughs out loud>
hahahhahahahahahha
haha
haha.
An extremely tiny fraction of the functions available from firefox extensions exist in Opera.
the clear majority of FF plugins you use
"Who will watch the watchmen?""Quis custodiet ipsos custodes" is, I believe, the original quote.
They could always do that in the name of national security, The Patriot act just makes it easier. If the rights of Middle-Easterners are infringed in the process, it's regrettableOh, I'm sure the victims are greatly heartened by your pity.
Meant your status quo. It seems hip nowadays to be Libby and left.Er, I thought you were the one claiming to be all for freedom of the individual?
You're still ignoring all my previous counterpoints to your previous accusations, and instead leaving a half-sentence bullshit reply...see "Cop Out".I just can't be bothered and don't have time to read all the comments and match them up with responses. It's a pretty big thread with a hell of a lot of content.
The right to own and bear arms is preeminent to our culture.Weren't you just the one complaining about supporting the status quo, too?
However, the studio is leaning towards using animatronic animals in favor of human actors. "The terrorism issue is still rather sensitive in America," said one studio executive who wished to remain anonymous. "Killing an animatronic goat is much more palatable to the American public. And it should also keep it PG-13, maybe lower."
But you'd rather keep generalizing, maintaining the status quo, right?Yeah... that's exactly what I'm doing by... arguing against the status quo.
What satchmo said.ZL, we discussed how the clear majority of FF plugins you use are native Opera features (and therefore almost certainly more efficently coded and called).

I can buy any assault weapon I want, and since The Republicans repealed the assault weapon's ban, I can legally buy clips any size. What sort of police state allows you to own military-grade weapons ffs?!Wow, I see you and your country have your priorities right. Everything's fine as long as you can own a gun, eh?
How many PC'ers are trying to make their machine like a Mac by installing Linux, eh?Lots, and they're getting damn close for a lot less dosh. Wins hands down for me. I'll be running NIX on my lappy when I get it.
a version of Source is coming out soon that does imitate eye adjustmentEr, HDR has been in the Source engine for months now. Keep up ;).
I don't care how much resources it takes. I want a web browser, not an internet suite.I don't see you complaining about Firefox's FTP code, or its RSS code, or...
Of course, it would be hard to tell which color was TRUE white and TRUE black, as when you are creating the texture, you might have the color be something like 0 0 1, and it would be somewhat visible, creating a square effect around it.Er, what image manipulation program are you using, Paintbrush?
Seventh, what country are you from? What are we doing that affects you?England, and if your government hadn't decided to invade Iraq, I think it's pretty unlikely that we'd have loads of troops being shot to pieces there.
Yes, it does take some freedoms away from the American people, but personally I am willing to give up those freedoms in order to prevent an event like 9/11 from happening again.Good God, you actually believe that? You brag of living in the land of the free, yet will instantly give up any freedom asked of you because of the over-hyped actions of terrorists? News for you: the terrorists are winning, then. You are giving in. Surrendering the freedoms you claim to hold so dear.
Besides,
Check my Apartment, my Car,
I have nothing to hide
I'd rather have someone thrown in jail who MIGHT not be a terrorists that have someone who probably is a terrorists loose on the streets. Not in a malicious way, although it probably sounds it (this is more directed at all people of your mindeset rather than you particularly): I wish you were imprisoned without charge or trial for a year or two. If that happened to everyone with this absolutely incredible "the government is always right" attitude, the world would be a safer, or at least better, place.
I'd rather have someone thrown in jail who MIGHT not be a terrorists that have someone who probably is a terrorists loose on the streets.I'd rather be murdered by some lunatic than live in or in any way support a society which imprisoned people at the whim of the police, or even worse, politicians.
Of course now I'm using OperaHeh, heh, and from such a Firefox zealot previously. It took you, what, about half an hour of Opera?
IRC client in a web browser is 100% bloat.telnet.exe: 75,776 bytes. It takes text from the command-line, processes it slightly, and sends it to a server. It takes text from the server, processes it slightly, and displays it. Hey, that reminds me of...
We aren't doing anything that effects you
So what if we keep going to war with whoever, I still get up and eat my breakfast the same as I always do.I thought better of you.
But you can make the walls an entity, to prevent the loss of w_poly...Eh?
