its a mod with a rewritten half life fgd for mapping purposes. it generally is an expanded hl mapping tool.

you can do loads with it. it features the movewith function, which makes entities move with other entities. it has fog and rain effects. get it and see, it has some pretty sweet maps with it to show its power.

to fix the leak, just either move the ntity in the void back into the map or close up the hole in the map with a brush.

to activate pointfile just choose "load pointfile" then the mapname.pts in the toools menu or type "pointfile" in the console when developer is set to 1

use the pointfile. hammer 3.5 has it in the 3d view, but you can also type pointfile in the console (make sure developer is on mind). with both simply follow the line till you see it go from the void to the inside of your map. the hole it goes through its your leak.

for a start, cs isnt good at automatically running maps (or maybe i just need to put in the right command in the parameters field). another point would be that the rmf is what you should make your maps with. rmf stands for rich map format. open cs, go into the console and type map testmap (or whatever your maps name is).

btw, dont start mapping with cs. start with hl, its the engine cs was built from. dont dive into other mods without an understanding of the original engine.

for hl it would be surfce tension. bs i liked the outro. opfor was probably the outdoor bit with all ur buddies, just before and after foxtrot uniform.

welcome!

make sure the volume field has a high number in it, preferably 10. also check the flags for the sounds radius. laso check game sound settings and make sure your speakers are working/plugged in right.

btw, please make your thread name on topic. hokey pokey pig in a pokey has no reference to mapping WHATSOEVER chum.

im not sure. a very sly trick would be to create an invisible solid in front of the tripmine so the lser didnt appear and use an env_laser. simply trigger the env laser to turn it on and off.

major, is that any reference to my last map? people thought it was pretty crap, but i spent weeks putting together some of the ent setups on that. it may have turned out crap, but at least i put alot of time into it.

dont start mapping for cs, start off with hl. if you map hl first, you get a better understanding of how the hl engine works and then can move to a modification such as cs. also steam can be pretty screwy with maps, so if you use it, i dont know what to do. if you have WON, then make sure the .bsp is in the maps folder inside the MOD directory e.g half life/valve/maps for half life and half life/dmc/maps for deathmatch classic.
