for my earliest class:

6:45 - wake up.

6:45-7:00 - eat foodz.

7:00-7:20 - get changed, wash face, brush teeth.

7:20 - leave.

Note I either shower the night before or not at all, I'm not really a smelly BO kinda guy, and I always use deodorant when I get out of the shower, and it lasts forever. Not to mention cigarettes make me stink like shit anyway.

Yeah, I'm lazy.

Kanye is quite an incredible producer actually, that's what he should be credited for, not his rapping.

Akala was great, I am in love with the fact he actually has a band, it's fantastic. I actually wrote a rhyme with insanity and humanity once, so that was a bit iffy to me, but the rest of it was great. Most rap doesn't usually capture my attention to lyrics like this does.

I think it was someone here who originally showed me this, but another example of awesome british rap http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KcFZEsn2Lls

Actually both minimalist and minimalistic are both adjective that pertain to minimalism (I actually just looked both words up), but minimal is still completely different.

edit: also just because something is minimalist does not mean it not also "simple".

I really, really, REALLY want to join, but inspiration comes to me like a fat kid to a salad.
Inspiration doesn't come to you, you have't to find it, you can look anywhere for inspiration, even in your own room, hell it could even be a stack of dirty dishes you haven't taken to the sink yet!

zeeba-G: The word you are looking for is minimal, not simple. And coincidentally, using less than what's available is very minimal in spirit.
If you're going to be a pedantic piece of shit then at least get the word right, it's minimalist.

Well Zeeba, you can upload WIP screens, just don't write "final" at the top of the post, I also intend to wait until the last day to submit mine as well, it'd be silly not to. And in what sense of the word playable do you mean? It hasn't been compiled yet, and if I added in weapons spawns etc, sure it'd be playable, but I don't think it would be too much fun, I'm just making it "like" a deathmatch map, but without gameplay in mind really.

Also, best way to cheat would be to make a map with no restrictions, screenshot it, and texture a few brushes in an even newer map with the screen shots (that newer map will be what you submit) Then just screenshot the newer map accordingly.

Currently 17 brushes.

Also maybe we should have a separate thread for the entries, in which you are only allowed to post your submissions, so people can compare entries without having to flip through all the mumbo jumbo.

It should be about both visuals and gameplay, that's the challenge.

edit: The Mighty Atom, I have to disagree, this is a terrible opportunity to focus on visuals. If anything this one should be about gameplay, and the 1024^3 should be about visuals, but I still think we should judge by both visuals and gameplay, I mean just from looking at the screen shots of course.

The only reason it's "commonly" brushed based is because that's what most people make of it. A placing map should excel in all areas: entities, ambiance, brushwork, lighting and texturing. Judges do keep that in mind when judging, but mostly people just concentrate on brushwork and texturing which limits what they can actually judge.

Just have someone monitoring it, if someone gets a whole lot of rep from the same people over a short amount of time (ie clearly abuse), make a penalty, that all your rep is multiplied by -1.

I doubt it will be abused here anyway, unless TWHL4 brings a whole bunch of new retards with it (and in a good light, a whole bunch of valuable members too)which is probably worth hoping for.

hahaha you actually just stole the front page and made it a little bit worse. The only reason I say that is because the forum posts should horizontally span the entire content sector since they contain text which we don't want wrapped tightly like you're suggesting.

Anyway you all heard Penguinboy, save your suggestions for the real thread, if you can't remember them, then write them down yourselves, they're probably not worth mentioning if you can't remember them anyway.

Thing is you're most likely not the future of TWHL because kids tend to go through their entertainment phases much faster than adults do, the long standing members stood the test of time, they are the true future of the website.

3) Force publishers to give at least 90% of the cost of a game to the developers. (I mean, come on. The developers do all the work, half the time with 100% their own money, and the publishers walk away with most of the profit for putting it in a box? That's completely unfair!)
Welcome to capitalism. Honestly though, you're being very much developer mindset orientated here. In the economics world, shipping, printing, advertising, producing and all the processes that come under publishing all count just as much as "hard work" as developing a game does. This is obviously why steam is very friendly to low budget developers with their economic online distribution platform.

Steam is the only hope for your perfect developers world.

Never realised how awesome that metroid prime track was Strider. That was quite a nice nuclear fusion remix Pb, really I hate most of them.

Another good prime track was: Metroid Prime - Phendrana Drifts

Also TAMusic is pretty damn good, I already have most of their stuff, just one of my favourites.

Touhou PCB - TAMusic - Capital City of Flowers in the Sky

You can post touhou music, just don't post a million U.N. owen remixes.

No VGM thread would be complete without Big Blue!

FZero-X - Big Blue
FZero-X - Crazy Call at Cry
FZero-GX - Casino Palace
[=NeutraL=] - Nuclear Fusion [remix of nuclear fusion from Touhou SA]

I must say I quite liked JENOVA and industro funk was also fantastic.

omg forgot this masterpiece

Fallout 3 - Title Theme

So let us post our favourite original tracks and remixes. I'll get it started off with a few of my favourites.

I recommend posting a link to the song on youtube (or preferred media host) with a title.

Lufia 2 - Boss Battle Theme
Pok?mon Red & Blue - Gym Leader Battle Music
Donkey Kong Country 2 - Mining Melancholy
Legend of Zelda OoT - Song of Storms Remix
Star Wolf Theme - Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Earthbound - Sanctuary Guardian
Super Mario Galaxy 2 OST - Road to Bowser
