i play 3v3 with some peeps from work.
immortals + seige tanks + void rays + boi ball + all cloaked via mothership = near impossible to defeat.

plus i keep warp prisms behind the mothership so i can keep warping in more reinforcements..
use the mothership recall for air and robotics units reinforcements - tough to counter.

try turning down the noise?
I've never used blinking lasers in themselves, but you can achieve the same effect with a multimanager turning the beam on and off every so often.
Just keep trying different things i'm sure you'll figure it out!

1. Do you play Sci-fi / Horror games? If yes, what do you specifically like about this genre of games?
  • I do play sci-fi and horror games. I like how creative the producers of the games are, i like immersing myself into environments i could never dream of actually going to.
Why do you think it is so popular?

Probably for the reasons i stated above - its a glimpse into someone else's imagination. And the games that pull it off well get people addicted!

2. Have you played any post-apocalyptic games, like Fallout? If yes, what kind of environments do you expect to see in these types of games?

No, unless you call the 7hour war an Apocalypse. As of what i'd expect to see; everything just in ruins - streets littered with trash, maybe corpses, grime, dirt... depending on how the world ended, maybe craters - no or very little electricity left.

3. What would you expect robots to look like in post-apocalyptic games? Like what materials do you expect them to be made out of, what equipment will they have? Etc.

This also depends on the year/setting. If it were current, i'd say some sort of modern alloy such as titanium, or maybe even a carbonized alloy of some sorts - knowing that nanotechnology is on the rise. That is, if they were made BEFORE the Apocalypse. If they were made AFTER, the robots would probably be made out of scrap metal, would not be very aesthetically pleasing, and would barely perform their required function, if at all. - Equipment, also spare parts depending on the job.

4. When you think of the term ?Space-rocket? What do you expect one to look like? (Similar to last question).
Space rocket? i immediately think cigar shaped with one round window, 3 wings and a red nose-cone. Propelled by one solid rocket booster in the back, and somehow it can magically support itself using only its wings. Did i mention the wings are also red, whereas the body is only silver, and when the craft lands, half of the vertical body folds out into stairs.

The only thing i dont like is how there are no medics, and only medivacs... it does change the gameplay a lot, but i dont use terran anymore since i've seen the wonders of the protoss.
I always liked the toss in SC1 but they just plain dominate in SC2.

if you'd like striker, i can pm you the code for one of my guest passes and you can play online, or do the SP for a few hours?

you CAN make a ring beam stand vertically
its not 100% vertical though
make 2 func_trains, or info targets, or whatever.
one on the floor, and one above it.
move the top or the bottom target of the ring 1 unit forward or backward from the opposite. it'll work. trust me.

My band is looking for an artist who can draw the artwork for our album.

This is not small undertaking, and in recognizing this, whoever is selected will be paid for their contributions. Yes ? real money in the form of a bank check made out in your name from ME! (the band, really, but I?m taking care of business on this one)

So if anyone would like to ?try out? for the position please make a drawing of one of these scenes, and if we like the artwork, we will negotiate a contract.

We?re looking for a serious artwork style. Black and white only.. very dark.. very serious.. Can be cartoonish or real. ? Think of an American graphic novel ? along the lines of Frank Miller.

Scene 1:? A man (late 20?s ? 30?s) sitting in a chair in the middle of a room. There is one spotlight directly over him. He is hunched forward with his face in his hands. Chem-lab equipment can be seen in the background.

Scene 2: A woman (late 20?s ? 30?s) is seen on the ground, dead. She has been stabbed many times. A man is kneeling down next to her holding her limp body. The background? is a city ? the woman and a man are in the middle of the street. ? It?s raining, night time.

Scene 3: A drug addict behind bars in an old prison cell, and a scientist in a labcoat taunting him with a needle. The man behind bars is ragged, going through withdrawals, desperate to get out ? clinging on the bars pleading for his life.

or even just indent the walls a bit, and put the torches within the indent - creates non-linear walls = more visually interesting.
Put a clip brush over it and the performance hit will be negligent - especially on today's hardware.

yeah that's my problem skals. most of the stuff I have in the vault is just so lame. but I'm working a a project right now so that is what keeps me going ATM. I'm taking it one room at a time.
