I'm actually surprised...I had no idea FF did this to my connection...I don't have Opera to test but I'm sure opera is fine...I just prefer IE over FF anyway.

Firefox is also slow for me..It takes an additonal 10-15 seconds to open the browser...
I have many favourites around 60-100 and I just can't be bothered to copy them into Opera...I didn't save them into a folder sadly...

Yeah...If it does that hang on...Do you have all the other entities required for HDR...You can't just have the sky..I can't remember what but you need a few entities to specify light brightness. Rabid knows what I mean.
What skybox did you use?
First you apply the SKYBOX texture and in Map Properties you type a name such as sky_day_02 (HL2 Sky)..

Surely Valve already made an aiming animation...What NPC you using? A rebel? Look through model viewer for an aiming animation...

Just doing my job.Probs just a settings error...If you go to properties in hammer you may notice some options...Mess around with those also try triggering it.
Like I said...NPC's use Scripted_sequences to do animations...Aiming is a type of animation so you gotta use that...However it will just aim anywhere which is why in properties you tell it to look at the name of the target.

If my PC can handle around 80-100 NPC's that are each 800 polys then I think I can easily hand your map. With portals and hint brushes you will be fine.

Nothing to show but I can safely say I have three rooms definitely done with the custom textures and teleport triggers. I am currently working on Hunters room and I spent the whole of today fixing, optimizing and testing the first three rooms by myself.

If I'm right you use an entity called 'trigger_hurt and set the damage to -100 aka minus.

It looks fantastic but maps with custom content are obviously going to be good. I've learnt this lesson so many times since every map I've come across with new content generally pwns all other maps.

Originally the VMT starts out as an empty .txt with the same name. You simply open Steam, drag the .tga file from this folder:
C:Program FilesValveSteamSteamAppshabboisourcesdk_contenthl2materialsrc
onto VTEX and it will out put the empty .txt there and the .vtf here:

Collect them both and edit the .txt so it has this:
"LightmappedGeneric"
{ "$basetexture" "yourfoldername/yourtexname" }
Foldername could be anything e.g. mytexes, DarthRevan etc..Whatever you name it it must be in THAT same folder in both materials folder.
Then rename it to .vmt and copy these two files (vtf and vmt) into both folders. Thats IT

Now the BSP requires both files and you can either include them in your map using BSP burner or something..Ask Rabid or Cap'n or just follow my tutorial. It may not be the solution to your question but you might get a better understanding of how textures work.

In this directory: C:Program FilesValveSteamSteamApps exists seperate files known as GCF files. They have names such as Source Materials..Use GCF (The extracting program) to take out the materials you want.
