Looks a bit like the bug I had..
After "saving" the map,, I got that error when I tried to compile..
It appared that I hade to save my map as MAPNAME.RMF else, it wouldn't make it an RMF..
This is a guess, I saw this:
Parameters: "S:counter-strikecstrikemapsmap1"
it is not saying .RMF or .MAP
I mught be wrong though

Lol, I'm confused.. well, any way.
I was thinking if Daubster could make some SWAT vehicle textures, so we could start with brush based SWAT cars,, after all, those cars are pritty squarish.. And I think it would be more dynamic if it where made of brushes.. Well, and after the textures are made, you could start with the BG map,, and don't worry, it doesn't have to be ready aug 28, just,, started on.. So we get this rolling, ;)

I'll PM Daubster about the textures

And, I just relised that I will not be able to do the SWAT mod website, cuz I can't code PHP (HL2files and PHL ONLY allows PHP, and CGI I bet..)

Pepper, a BG map is a background map, used in the menu..

If you make a bg map, you simply make a map, place a info_player_start, and then, you place a,,, well, I forgot the entity name but, a background_camera or something, and what the cam sees, will be showed in the menu.

You sure are smart pepper, ;)
Ok, we make a map and a few replace ments, then, we get media, then we post at PHL and HL2 files, and after that, we get to VERC and gets some more staff. ;)

How is that?

By the way, the database error is nothing,, they are having problems right now, (in the moddb news) but it will be fixed soon I bet.

By the way pepper, I think we can get hosted by Planet half-life or, HL2 files.
I'll see what I can find.

EDIT: Some one adviced me to post about SWAT mod at HL2 files so they can post it as news.. Should I do that?
Or maby contact PHL, or maby both?

OK, I'll now take action! :P
This is what we need to do in a week (not every thing, but,, at least some things of it)

*Fix an Animator (Madcow)
*Fix a coder (Madcow)
*Upload the T-TAB concept (madcow)
*Start, and maby finnish the T-TAB map. (slasher_101)
*Fix BG map (slasher_101)
*Make a S.W.A.T. transport car model (Pepper)
*Fix new equipment slots and code new weapons (coder)
*Remove the save function from both the menu, and when you press quit while in a game (IF, we do not want to have the save func, CODER)
*T-TAB textures (Daubster)

INFO ABOUT THE SWAT VEHICLE:
Something in this style: S.W.A.T. vehicle
Needs to have a "set" on the side where a map can be placed and needs to be open able (also, enabled to be inside the back of the car,, where they sit)

Textures for T-TAB:
A T-TAB decal, like, their logo.. will be placed on the windows.
Needs to have a transparant BG, I think this can be done in the compile command.
We also need a big window security block texture.
You know, one of these things that comes down behind the windows in, for example, a store, so if some one breaks the glass, they still can't get it.

Background map
The bg camera will be placed in an ally where a swat vehicle is parked, the enviroment is dirty and foggy.
The walls is full with "scribble"

USP? Odd.. well, Echo 12 is,, uhh,, *dictionaty omg, that word can't be used in a scentence..

Well, any way, Echo 12 will "be all over the world" in the game..
You know, a bit like raindow six, but, rainbow six wasn't a S.W.A.T. "organisation"
So, one part of the game, you are in USA, an other part, you are in russia, then sweden ( might happen, this is a bit in the future, 2008.. :P )
aaand UK or something.. I don't know.
The idea from the begining was RainbowSix: Source, and that idea lives on.. ^^
But, lol, no rainbow six any more, though.

When I think of a terrorist,, and look at the weapon, it is an AK! :o

You don't need to concept the first rober map, I've done that one,, ;) the concepts will come today! :D

What weapons should they use?
I think, benelli M3 is a good choice for both T and SWAT.
Benelli M3 is cheap and often used by both terrorists and the police, and it is even a popular weapon of the citizens in USA, they use it for protection... (sick, I think.. :P )

I've seen other forums with these weird spoiler censures..
And when you mark them, you can see the text.
That would be good to have in these forums (for some reasons :P )
while talking about mapping you might tell some one about something that they did not know (about the ending for example)

Example of the spoiler function can be found at hl2.net (I think)
I messed up once when my spoiler tag didn't work, I have never returned scince then,, I bet they still are pissed.. ^^

So, just a suggestion, add a SPOILER tag to the TWHL BB code! :)

Well, they do not use normal shots, and they use some kind of a breach shotgun.
Weird thing, powerful stuff, ;)

I've now posted at Vlatitude (after 20 mins of looking for clatitude at google,, ^^ ;) )

Intresting,, breaching a brush based door.
Maby you could do a sequence some how..
If you press "use key" on the door, there will pop up a breach charge.
and after about 5 seconds, the charge blows upp the door!
How would that be? (no funneh remote though... :( )
(this tecunique could be used in the demo map (the first map in the game, I'm just waitong for my friend to scan it, ;) )

In other news, our first custom texture is done, (all credit to Daubster! ;) )

This is one of the few misses in HL2,, they did not even have a light swich texture! :o
Well,, we have, :)

I don't know about every chapter = new group..
I figgured that it would be easier to have every new mission as a new chapter (every mission will minimum contain 2 maps anyway, maby even 3, it is brief, mission and de-brief.)
And then, we would be able to remove the ingame SAVE function (wich can be done easy)
So you would have to play the whole mission (you can't save in realety, eh?) You know it locks up a new chapter every time you manage to play through one.

Echo 12 is like,, Rainbow Six or,, well, whatever,, you get the point,, ;)
I think we should stick to it, but if we do not agree, we could have a vote or something, I don't know. :)

Hey, I get this error while compiling:

BSCMAKE: error BK1506 : cannot open file '.debugcmdlib.sbr': No such file or directory

It can't find that file or something.. >_<
