Right, first things first: the tank: you cannot make it shoot at anything else but you i.e. gordo. there were flags on the func_tank entity that allowed you to set what it would attack but those options were removed in a really old half-life patch, v1.0.0.5 i think. the only way to get your desired effect is to use spirit of hl, sorry.
as for R_SHADDOWS, it was also removed in some patch, probably coz the shaddows were crap, i'm not sure if they'll ever come back.
and on a posetive note i got a cool new inet provider which means i'll be arround a lot of the time...

No, because an active tank will fire at you and nothing else. I want barney to control a tank using tank controls (scripted_sequence, idle animation, target, tankcontrols' name?). The reason I want barney to do this is so he can reduce the constant stream of grunts to a thin but still constant stream of grunts.
Can you get a barney to use a func_tank? I'd like him to operate an automatic gun in my level, so that I don't have to stand by it the whole time to get rid of the endless stream of grunts (monstermakers and info_nodes, tried it, works brilliantly). It would give my secret agent HQ level better defences other than the guns on the roof which you have to control, and are designed to take out repelling grunts and helicopters.
first multiplayer and then single player. cause it isnt going to be a to small mod(il try t keep it as small as possible but..) and there is a bigger need to multiplyer and single player. and i dont now if you can make such a thing in singleplayer on the hl engine. i think that if you want sp then you should turn to games like il2 sturnovik or combat flightsimpulator 1,2,3.
I'd also like to make a mod. Sort of. For single player. I don't need any new models or textures, just helpers. BTW, when I said new textures, I mean custom textures. I'm likely to use any decent mod texture files I can find. And then get rid of what I don't need. I also need a bunch of ideas.
download the halflife modol viewer then you can listen to the soudns form al the chater with senteces and you will now how it sounds inthe game so you can alos the g-man talk.
i think we should add some of the most asked questions from the forums. we could make a tutorial on its own for that so we have one basic tutorial and a few ectra tutorial with it. a kind of in the beginnig for scripted sequence. and working wiht scripted sequences is using you imatination to make it look nice also the eviroment must fit with it.
i wannna make a new mod for hl only i cnat modle or program and iam not really the best texture artist you can have.

ever heard of varoom no wel it is a maod i wich you cna fly helicopters only the development is a bit still. then you have rocketcrowbar where you can go into helis and aliens but not really my mod idea. then you have hl rally wiht huge racemaps cause they have a special hull file thats why the models and textures are small and you can race hughe maps.
this is my idea for a mod only i need people wo can programm map making textures and model models form wwII aircraft like the messerschmit 109 and the spitfire or p-51d. the scenario is in a wwII style and you have to battle with aircraft. in death match and it is going to be multi plyer. how you can make hughe maps??? with a adapted hull file and fgd.
the types of maps: dwathmatch a hughe dogfight between al the aircraft there are.
coo-op bombing a anymy base by invading there enymy terotoryti and destroy there base
btb bomb the base (ctf idea): to bases wich have to be bomb by bombers.
ctf fly trohw a ring and capture the enymy flag
there will be no single player.

well thats the only way seventh monkey, u have to do them individually, and obviously you cant have the glass brush already as an entity before cutting it as i forgot to mention, thanks andy, always turn into an entity once you have the brush shaped how you want.
All previous competition entries are available for download in the competitions section. They've always been there. I agree, they would be easier to find if they were located in the map vault.
What I wanted to do was select, say, twenty panes, and tie them all to individual entities - so they don't all smash when you break one, which is what normally happens. I don't want to have to do what I did for the competition all the time (select them all individually)
Carving with a func_entity like a func_breakable or clipping will cause some of the adjacent brushes to group to the original. The only way to ungroup them is to turn the entity back into a world brush and then ungroup them... But this might not be your problem.. Yep, I am rambling again, sorry
to ungroup the glass once its together if they are made up of separate brushes, just have them all selected then right click on it and select ungroup, then deselct the object then now you should be able to select all the brushes individualy.
Or if the brush is not made up of more than one piece then use the clipping tool to cut the brush in half and so forth, just press the clip tool then place the cursor over the section you want to start the cut and then place it where you want it to end then press the clip button a few times till you get the whole brush highlighted then press enter.
Pressing the clip tool more than once cycles through the different clipping modes, you can either cut the brush and delete the left half of, or press again to delete the right half or press a third time to just cut without deleting anything.
I need ideas Guy's and Girls... Pepper has sent in a tutorial on scripted sequences, but I am faced with a bit of a problem. I have searched the web and most sites do something with scripted sequences, and show you a few tricks but really leave the rest to your imagination. Most of the forum questions here at TWHL are asking for specific types of scripting, like retinal scanners, door opening and that kind of thing... What do you want? Problem is, to cover all possibilities is beyond the scope of any tutorial that can be written (or so I believe) So what I need is ideas. I would like to use peppers work as the base for a tutorial, but do you think it would work as a tutorial that covered different scenarios?? Adding bits as people asked for them. Or do you just want the basics?
