I know it's working cuz I threw a bugbait in the cam's view and it showed up on the monitor :)

OKay I've seen the example map that someone put up in the vault... here's my question... like in HL1, can you have the camera either pan back-and-forth or at least follow an entity (or the player?)

Well whatever. I still believe SOMETHING should be indicated by the user which CS it's for (I have noticed just a couple HAVE done that, so thank you)

Perhaps that little graphic next to someone's map name could be extended to include HL2, HL2DM, and such? ::smiles::

But as a player, Alex, you can put bots in the game you create... unfortunately it also puts you AS one of the players..... dedicated server is much easier on my system, and I dont feel like sitting idle as a player if I'm not home.

Does anyone really know how to do it or is it just not possible? I thought I saw something somewhere about a configuration file..... shrugs

And google takes me to "search results" pages.... ya know those "www.searchmenow.com" or "www.metasearch.com" or some other BS thing.

They get confused and stuck NOW LOL! (Compound Map)

AT least last night this one was stuck right where the little shack is (red couch)... my roommate and I were on Terrorist team with 2 bots, 4 bots on other side. It was down to her, and a CT bot... the CT bot got stuck... I was able top lead her to him ROFL.

They are RETARDED bots... they will see an enemy bbut follow the nav path despite hostages being rescued - WEIRD stuff.

dedicated server does not have that option. Maybe if I am in the game and running a server as a player, but not dedicated server - that doesn't pop up, I tried it.

Can you guys please indicate in the map names or descriptions what version of the game it's for? (CS: Source, CSCZ, HL2DM, Etc...)

I have downloaded 3 maps for CS so far that were NOT for source.

That and screenshots of Gordon's view DOES help despite what I said before. If people see what the HUD looks like, it helps to figure out which mod the map is for.

None of the bot_* commands are coming up valid commands... I know if you type help <command> it shows a help info. But none of the bot commands that I have on my sheet are valid for some reason.

I wanted to find out how I can run the bots so people see the server is active. I've been in other's where there are all bots till someone joins. How do I do it?

I personally like a map with hiding points... the ones where you have a good vantage point. I played CS:S with my roommate last night, and I swear it was awesome... Every time I died I'd follow her first person... she really knows all the good points in maps.

I want to design a new map. Thing is I don't know anything about placing bomb sites and such. I DO NOT like the hostage maps... It's just something about placing a bomb and protecting the area so it goes off :)

I also need to know if vehicles are possible in CS (could always run the bastard down LOL)

I played tonight with my roommate and 12 bots... we were both on terrorist team.

AND we were both connected to HER steam account. Which is cool!

I havent a clue about this.

For the last day or so I have been foolin with the prop_vehicle entities... the prop_vehicle_jeep was a nice one!

I say "WAS" because SOMEHOW it no longer works. When I place one in my map, a little red box appears... not the model... when I attempt to run the map, it freezes HL2, forcing me to hit ALT+F4 to close it out.

How do I fix this? Airboat shows up and is drivable.....

I consider this a legitimate suggestion.

The link to the left takes you to #twhl, a room obviously reserved for mapping talk. There IS another channel called #twhlregs.

The site designers, in my opinion, should change that link to go to the regs room, and info should be put in the subject of that

"If anyone has mapping questions, we would like it if you join #twhl and ask your questions in there"

I believe this would save a lot of headaches.

Also you may want to put in THAT room's subject that occupants may not answer due to mapping or other activity.

I noticed tonight that you can play HL2 with Steam in OFFLINE MODE... That gives my roommate a chance to play the game she wanted anyways... CS:S
