There is a problem reading the file. The possible causes and possible solutions vary so much I cannot list them ALL here.
For a HL/mod game a few solutions are:
- Corrupt BSP, needs replacing
- Corrupt MOD or HL program needs replacing - a virus?
- Corrupt sprite/wav/model/wad
- Bad Hard drive sector that is not reading well or at all
- Another program is interfering with the game program
- Many others are possible.
This error also occurs when you exceed the maxiumum texture limit. The old tools have a 2mb limit and Zoners have a 4mb limit. You can extend this limit by adding '-texdata #' as a parameter to all 4 compile tools, with # being a size in kb. A good setting is 40000
