Hey Guys, I don't know/care if you noticed/care that I'm not on anymore, I've been busy with highschool and trying to make myself not steep into a depression like state. I just wanted to say hi to the website that pretty much got me into mapping. I'm still on steam a lot, I play L4D2 all the time when I can, so yea, add me if you want, I'm not that hard to find. See you all around!

I got some sort of virus or trojan this week. I don't know where I got it from, since I always visit the same 10-12 sites which were always safe. Now I was getting continuous popup windows in sites that never had them before and it was annoying the shit out of me. After googling without success (filtered?) I found a forum where someone suggested to run Spybot Search & Destroy. OK, fair enough I think, could give it a try.

But the S&D page didn't load. This couldn't be casual. So I started to think of possible reasons why that particular page wouldn't load, and figured it might have messed up my network settings somehow. It turns out it had changed the DNS server and all my requests were being proxied through some obscure IP. I can only suppose it got many of my passwords too, which I suppose I'll have to change.

I changed it back and I just finished downloading that S&D software. I hope it helps. At least I'm not getting those annoying popups anymore.

Day 4: Not so great of a day. Every once in a while Lyssa gets a nurse that is just a bitch. They will soon move her to the regular level where she has a full private bathroom and shower, but the AVM was larger than they had anticipated. They want to do another Angiogram for some reason. We don't know if something showed up on the latest MRI scan and we're worried about a third surgery. Still not sleeping well.

Allow me to proudly present you Opposing Life2Life, the Gold Source of Goldsource mods.

If you click the link nao, you will see a list of 22 mods that this mod was built upon. Since they credited those other mods, there is no need to go STOLEN STOLEN or whatever spam on their page. Well, actually they didn't credit all of the mod contents they used (e.g. They Hunger, Point of View, Redemption, etc.) so do what you will.

So what the EFF exactly is this mod? Well, imagine going into opposing force and typing "map c0a0". That is more or less what this mod tries to achieve. You get to play vanilla with Opposing Force Coding.

BUT WAIT A MINUTE! This mod offers more than just that. Didn't I just said this mod is built on 22 other mods? Yes it is. So, if you play thru this mod, not only will you see monsters from OP4 (like gonomes and shocktroops) but you will also get new weapons from OP4. So, in a way this is just like playing Half life with OP4 code. But in a way it is better.

Sprawled throughout the mod are nonsolid prop models placed almost everywhere. Some are nice to look at. Some are generics that can be gibbed. And some are annoying because they block my view and the grunt behind it can take potshots at me. AR time.

The mod quality is discouraging at first impression. They start out from the opening cutscene of Visitors, which was badly linked with the opening of blue shift, which in turn is badly linked with the opening of vanilla HL. So just start a new game at c1a0 and you're all set.

The first thing you notice is that your colleagues are no longer clones of five certain individuals. You will definitely see some familiar faces here and there, but unfortunately this means that later on you will see a variety of bodies around the complex. Sob.

Storyline plays out normally in this mod. That is, until you take your unpaid vacation to Xen. At Xen, Gordon will be in entirely new places that will look familiar to you. This is not a grammar error, I really mean it that way. So then after you realign the focal transmitters, Rosenberg tells you to hurry and return into the portal. But guess what? That cheeky bawstard redirected the portal right into Nihilanth's factory. Damm it.

So go ahead and grab this mod and see your favorite mods make their cameo appearances in vanilla HL. Just remember that the file size is almost the combined file size of all these mods, so it will be obese. Now go and throw a displacer ball up Nihilanth's face, and enjoy the fireworks.

Tomorrow I'll must give a speech in order to support my candidacy for the president of my school(sort of) :|.
It's funny because I had the option of not participating at this, but you know what happens when you refuse and the teacher wants you so much to participate ...

Tuesday will be the "elections" =)).

Wish me luck. I hope I won't screw myself up when talking in front of the whole fucking school.
[EDIT] Someone just suggested me to imagine everyone in front of me being naked so I won't be inhibited. Now I hope I won't laugh like a stupid in front of them.

DAY 3: Walking around, eating, drinking, and peeing on her own. Lyssa is a bit cranky, they keep waking her up every hour or so for medicine that makes you drowsy. She finally got her chocolate too! Full meals too, hospitol food is good. Expected to go home on Monday.

To those of you who haven't been so lucky to be blessed with fallout: new vegas yet, here's my first impressions review (I've been playing for 6 hours total but still that's only a scratch into the game.)

I'll try not to make it long... Basically over all, fallout new vegas is the same old fallout 3 game but with many little improvements to all aspects of it. The one improvement I find the best is the Hardcore mode, It doesn't really live up to the name since I'm finding it easy even when playing the game on hard, but it adds a much more realistic feel to the game. Basically with this mode on, you are forced to eat food, drink, and sleep or you die. Which is actually good, since you are actually using all the food and water you can find, unlike in fallout 3 where it was just a waste of bag space. Repairing has also been improved to allow you to recycle old ammo and create new ammo, and there is a new skill called survivalism which allows you to create food and increases its benefits.
The monsters ai is also so much smarter now, the wild animals actually team up in packs and try to stalk you, if they get low on hp they run off to nearby friends and call them to attack you too.
So far I am loving the game, If you enjoyed fallout 3 this is a must get, because it is not only better but it also has a completely new story and environment.

Oh and also, There is this new dodgy perk you can choose at the beginning, you should get it :> (you'll know what I'm talking about when you see it).

As for myself, I'm going on a holiday for a week now, cya guys!

Day 2 is finally done and things are in the clear. The doctor said the surgery couldn't have gone any better than it just did and then ludicrously trounced about high-fiving his medical team... maybe not that last part, but in theory the surgery went in THAT well. Lyssa feels better after today than she did last night by far and is already awake and aware, though I think the medicines are making her feel like she's playing Mario or something, it was funny. She'll be laid up for a day or so. Will continue to update you on her status.

Ok, I saw Soup Miner's journal and decided to join too(through Soup Miner's referral link, so you own me one bro' :D).

So as he said, my chances of winning such a l33t gaming gear set are increasing with the total number of referrals.

Please click this link: http://l33t.razerzone.com/index.php?user_dtl=0ad084da7fc8ab46464f9fe759926e21

Thank you :).

I need your urgent help.

Today I got Fallout Vegas and my PC locked up and froze. I thought here we go.

So short version is that my PC now locks up whenever I play a game. What happens is I'll load TF2 and as soon as I join a team the screen flickers, it freezes and all these red dots or lines appear all over the screen and I am forced to reset.

Before all this, the Nvidia display driver kept crashing so I wiped it clean, deleted all folders, all registry entries and used CCleaner to nuke it. Then installed the latest driver.

The display driver crashing stopped but the game freezing is still there. SO I ran some tests.

The first was memtest which passed.
Then I ran a complete system test where it just checks everything and that passed too.

So this leads me to think of two things at this moment in time.

1. Somehow the display driver is still b0rked.
2. Something wrong with my Nvidia 8800 GTX card.

Now I must stress I can't open my PC or I break the warranty on it so I can't check to see if it's hot. I'm thinking of getting a temperature testing program but not sure what a good one is yet. I must also point out there's a lot of dust covering the two fans at the front of my PC. However they seem to work fine because one of the tests I did turned them from low to high and off and on and all sounded fine.

Honestly it's almost like winter over here and the fans sounds normal as always.

I'm no expert but there's a fan on the graphics card right? I can't see it but is it possible the fan is clogged or not working therefore the GFX is getting hot? If it was getting hot wouldn't the other fans all act up?

This is a Dell PC by the way and I'm gonna contact them to come and fix it if I find no answers. Any tips before I do?

Oh here's a dump from DxDiag:

Lyssa is doing ok. She got the Embolization without any problems. Day 1 is nearly out of the way with only a headache. Surgery is at sometime between 8 and noon tommorrow.

Just found out that Portal 2 is already on the steam store. For sure some of you know it already but it was weird to find it out myself.

This is the best news I've heard all year.

"Professor Layton And Ace Attorney Co-Starring In Upcoming Title":
http://kotaku.com/5667585/professor-layton-and-ace-attorney-co+starring-in-upcoming-title

"Don't Object To This Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney Trailer":
http://kotaku.com/5668295/dont-object-to-this-professor-layton-vs-ace-attorney-trailer

Don't object? DON'T OBJECT? How could anyone possibly object to this?

(If you object to this, you suck and I hate you.)

EDIT
I got an email from Play basically giving me my pre-order bonus code but I was surprised to read it said I have to activate it in Steam. Well hang on? I ordered the retail version so huh? A quick google reveals:

"Jason Bergman, Senior Producer at Bethesda Softworks: Yes. Fallout: New Vegas will fully utilize the Steamworks SDK. This means that retail PC copies will activate via Steam. We are also using Steam for achievements and other features (but not multiplayer, of course. FNV remains a single player only game)."

I'm not bothered about it but I hate to be forced to go online to play a game I physically own when an internet connection problem could prevent me from playing it.
So...Fallout New Vegas eh?

Mine's coming tommorow and I gotta say I probably wouldn't have got it if there were other games coming out at the same time. My point is, I usually find these few months before Christmas are a bit dry in the new, interesting games department.

Anyway I'm sure I'll enjoy it. I intend to go down the laz0r using, Science braniac, repair man route. It's the most fun. I also hear there's a perk that makes...easter eggs appear. Yeah, so stuff similar to the Tardis in Fallout 1.

I hope that bloody perk is still in there. I intend to blow some whore heads off. And by whore I mean robot whores.
