You know how some days everything is just going to hell, like karma decided to be a bitch for no particular reason? Today was one of those days.
First my atm card fails on me so I have to go to the bank on monday and stand in line for an hour or two just to get a new one. This means that while they sit there with their thumbs up their asses like all bank employees do (takes around a week or more to get a new card), I can't do shit because I can't get to my money. On top of that, I lost a micro SD card that I used with my DS to play roms, so all my savefiles are gone. It might seem trivial but I hate losing things, there's nothing that pisses me off more.
EDIT: On a lighter note, I got a Starcraft2 Beta invite, yay!

I have the new Splinter Cell: Conviction game pre-ordered for Xbox 360, hopefully it should be here the 13th or 14th. I have the collector's edition coming so it should hopefully have a few nice goodies.
The demo is up on LIVE for anyone wanting to try it out. In my opinion, it is pretty amazing. I've played it a few times, and still plan on playing it more, to develop my "skill" in that area.

Awesome! My internet provider just decreased their prices! Now, when I buy a $50 recharge, instead of getting 3gb data, I now get 4gb!!
And if anyone had been paying attention to my Blog (if you haven't then you suck :P) I have been making a Left 4 Dead 2 map. It's unofficially completed and is being playtested by my good friend Battlebabe (yes, she is a girl as the name implies). When the sweetie has played it with some of her friends and tested it, I'll release it to the public.

I was never hyped up about Modern Warfare 2 and I don't intend on buying it either. Now I guess most of you have seen the steam news of the 'Free weekend' MW2 is having. I thought to myself, what the heck I'll try it anyway. So yesterday I downloaded it and waited until today to play as it was still locked then. The first error popped up; 'couldn't find localization.txt'. Alright. After a google search and manually putting the file in, I tried running it again. Another file missing, this time you can't add it in manually. So after returning to the site I found help from, I found out that I have only downloaded 1/3 of what you actually need to play. I've already downloaded 5.7gb and apparently there's another 8gb to go. By the time I download that, the free weekend's over.

Lately I've been '2forting' a lot and to be more specific, going for medic chain runs. To those who don't know what medic chains are, you basically have two medics both with ubersaws; one will uber whilst the other medic being ubered will attack 4 times (25% uber gained each hit = 4 hits = 100% uber) and then switch.
Nothing spectacular but I've been added to the awards page for the most ubersaw kills.

I'm hiding easter eggs for the young kids at a park with my girlfriend and I just hid the last one by a fence. I was jogging back when my leg started stinging. Turns out I came into contact with a Fire Ant pile. I went back to the easter egg and figured it wouldn't be a good idea (at all) to leave an easter egg in a pile of Fire Ants. The easter egg was covered with them but I picked it up anyway and shook all of the ants off. I then hid it under a bench.
In short, I got chewed up a bit by some ants. Luckily bug bites don't effect me much since I hail from the northern lands of distant Minnesota.
My easter was good. HAPPY ZOMBIE JESUS DAY!

My camera has been having the occasional malfunction lately so I've been looking into the acquisition of a new camera. Naturally, before simply going into a shopping spree and buy something stupid I'll regret later (it did happen before), I'm asking around for advise.
Now, the plan so far includes this camera, this lens, and possibly one of these flash units.
Anyone around here know enough to support or suggest against it? (yeah... I know it's a Half Life site and not a professional photography one, but you never know)

I bought Torchlight last weekend from Steam when they had the 75% discount going. Cost me only 5 bucks. Best 5 bucks I ever spent, in my opinion. For those of you who played and loved the Diablo series and other, similar games, get it. You will not regret it.

Just found about adding bloom to Half-Life 1 and mods. Adds that blindness every game needs.
The Specialists with bloom (and 8x AA, 16x AF, blah blah)
NOTE: His instructions were wrong in terms of installation, you're supposed to put the contents into:
C:\Steam\steamapps\<username>\half-life
Not the mod directory you want the bloom to be in.
The downside to this is, and it even says on the download page in big red letters should you somehow miss it, you can only use this whilst in a LAN or unsecured server as the anti-cheat picks it up as hax.
