I seem to have made myself a member even though i was only looking for a tutorial on how to set up Hammer. Well a little bit about myself then as an intro.

My name is Chris and i live in Doncaster, United Kingdom. I am 22 in 3 weeks exactly. I have never modded before but thought i would give it a go. Sadly my computer isn't up to spec to play Half-Life 2 but i have it for the X-Box. Never really liked HL1 but i guess i will get to know it better now.

I am currently working on my first project after doing the intro tutorial. This will be a large map and wil give me oportunity to try out all of these wonderfull tutorials. I will be making a load of new textures for it and hope to get some good feedback. I will be helped, if you call it that, by my freind who will be called bOb. He is a serious HL1 player but doesn't have access to the net so any and all comments will be posted through me.

Well i think that is enough. Must get back to shouting at Hammer.

"Hello Hugh! This is your 500th login. Awesome."

Hurray, 300 logins in around 100 days. That whole Dunce Americans thread really brought me into TWHL.

And as a "present" for those of you who read this, you can look at this non-exclusive in-editor screenshot of my Reissues/Snarkpit compo map.

Day 14,
Narrowly missed a second misunderstanding yesterday. I am noticing a distinct level of such events around here, not only involving myself, but many of the regulars that by now should have grown well beyond such trivialities.

Upon reflection, the research I have been doing into the poor level of reading might be the root cause. At first it was thought to be a simple case of English not being the first language but after further study this proves out to not being the case.

More study is warranted but I am beginning to suspect its simple immaturity and/or prideful separatisms. If this is the case, only time and maturity will cure it.

Stay tuned for more info.

Pep's useless G-max tips : Tip 258
Did you know if you got a stuttering framerate whilst you only got 2000/3000 polygons in view this might because be the driver? If your sure your card can handle it then change the driver from HEIDI to OpenGL or Direct3D depending on your videocard, now the frames will be kept as high as possible but hardware means(monitor and vid card).

See you next time!

My life...my life...I couldn't ask for a better one to be honest...

I feel like sharing some news and what better place than here...

You may have read the post below this and most likely think I am crazy.
Well I'm not...I am indeed working on my own mod that will make me stand out in the gaming industry and thus make me appear more impressive.

Ambitious you say? Maybe...What I do know is I can do it...I'll explain:

My story is simple and it works out so well that this mod will not require too much work...I need modellers and coders so I manage to get a modeller with sheer luck. He demands concepts so I PM a load of professional concept artists and again by sheer luck I hire two.

Portfolio of one: http://www.dimitrioskounios.com/

He has given me what he calls a 'quick' sketch and if that is true then I especially look forward to the final drawing.

Funny story: I hired one concept artist and receive an email from whom I thought was the same guy...So I post details and he replies with "What picture? You didn't send me one?" and it took me a couple of days to realise it was a different guy...

So now I have two concept artists drawing away for me...My plan is to draw three colossus and then get my modeller to model them out...Hopefully Strider can texture them...(Have you seen his texture skills? God-like...)

Once I have three modelled and skinned I will compile them in a few custom maps and post the media on a lot of HL2 sites...Then I pray a coder will come...I know for a fact that one will join...They may be rare but after they see the work I can do they will beg to join ;)

That's my plan so far and I really hope it works out.

Got my AS exams in less than 2 weeks time...Yikes.

If you want to help me then do say so...However I'm after professionals really...If you have friends who code then please do share.

On recent news I have not touched Dedication 2 in quite a while...Oh I plan on finishing it...Hunter encouraged me to make de_boshi better...

I may even start working on Dedication 2 today...Hunter sent me his room not too long ago and that has boosted my confidence again...His room is actually quite nice..Reminds me of those old doom games I never played but saw on Google.

Thanks for reading.
