Chrome isn't even a real OS. It just stores everything on the web and leaves you at the mercy of your internet connection. It's a flop waiting to happen. With the growth in storage and processing power, there is no need for it. Maybe back in the old IBM terminals days, but nowadays, everything can easily be run client-side.

This is the kind of people that voted GWB twice.It is technically inaccurate to say that conservative Christians voted in GWB twice. For one, they do not have even close to enough voter base to shoe-in a candidate. Secondly, they will nearly always vote for the conservative candidate by default (same reason why liberal groups nearly always vote for the liberal candidate by default). That didn't help McCain win last election, or GHB against Clinton or Bob Dole against Clinton.

My beliefs are not founded upon what I have heard others say, but the things I have experienced firsthand. My faith is a logical conclusion, not a blind assumption. Shall I abandon logic so that I may blindly assume the same thing that you believe? I certainly would not expect you to abandon logic and blindly assume what I believe.
Furthermore, I have as good understanding of science as nearly any atheist, so do not assume my faith is based upon lack of knowledge.
Yes, these people are complete nut-jobs, but more subtle evangelism is just as dangerous.There may be a select few who are nut jobs, but it is blatantly ignorant to put all evangelists into this category. Intolerance is a two-way street. You can't accuse such people of being intolerant and then attach such hateful labels to them yourself.
For the record, Hitler brought Germany out of the worst economic crisis in the country's history. He was a very skilled leader.By the time Germany surrendered, it was in worse shape than when Hitler had taken power. The country was literally in ruins. Not the hallmarks of a skilled leader. A better example would be someone like FDR, who took the US out of its worst economic crisis and made it into a world superpower. Hitler did have some good leadership qualities, including excellent charisma, but his ability to make rational decisions was very poor.
Being a talented liar is one thing, being a talented leader is something completely different.
I wouldn't exactly call Hitler talented or a good leader. He was only a good leader in the sense that he was good at convincing people to believe his lies - as is typical of most politicians. His practical leadership qualities weren't much, as he made a series of major errors that left his country in far worse shape than when he had taken power. Hitler's "leadership" absolutely destroyed his country.

Keep in mind that this is a very, very small minority of American Christians.
I wouldn't go as far as comparing them to Nazis. The underlying beliefs of these two ideologies are very different, even if they may seem similar on the surface. Honestly, I'm tired of people comparing other groups and people to Nazism. I hear it about the far right and the far left. People likened Bush to Hitler and now they liken Obama to Hitler. It's ridiculous. No present leader or group has come anywhere close to the atrocities committed by Hitler and his Nazi regime. Yes, lets marginalize the horrors committed during that time so we can demonize current groups and leaders. Great plan :rly:

Michael Bay should watch Avatar and resign from film making.I was thinking the exact same thing.
Even those who criticize Avatar for having a predictable story - at least it had a story. Bay's films are nothing but action and special effects with a few awkward love scenes thrown in and no real story whatsoever.

I was on 256k DSL. Sucked horribly. I couldn't even steam 320x240 (QVGA). I have 10Mbps cable now. Makes a world of difference. Honestly, I think 1.5Mbps should be the bare minimum for anyone's connection these days. Otherwise, ISPs are just shortchanging people.
I streamed 1080P and it looks great on a 24" screen. Makes me want to see more HD video streams available.
I too think I'll keep using Avast. Minimal resource usage and so far hasn't let anything through or had any false detections.
And WC is pretty much right about Macs. Not to mention that if you want to stay ahead, you have to pay $130 every year or so for what is essentially a service pack.

Depends. Some code runs very poorly on GPU hardware and is better suited for running on a standard CPU.
If you watch the video where he is editing the displacement mesh, you can see the insane number of polys that go into those landscapes.

I hope people can begin to understand why Americans are so adamant about their gun rights. It wasn't too long ago that the Brits had these same rights. Then once the government took that right away, they've been slowly stripping away civil liberties ever since. It's sad how much 1984 is starting to come true over there.

I've found some props in L4D that I would like to port over to my CS:S map. However, the L4D file structure seems to be completely different than the rest of the Source-engine games. I have no idea where to extract the model + materials I need.

And to Kasperg, I was once proud of my old maps and didn't like the criticism on them. However, I have since come to realize their inferior quality and would never make the same mistakes again. I also have a CS Source map I have put months and months of work into. I'm quite fond of it, but I do expect criticism as well as some people to trash it, simply because there are better mappers than me out there - some of which have do a superiority complex. Just something you have to live with.
I actually have a bunch of "in progress" maps. I'll try to finish them and get them posted.

It almost seems like people want to find an excuse just to panic over it. SARS, bird flu, swine flu, global warming cough and so on. You're far more likely to die on the drive to work, and you don't see people panicking over that.
