It'd be good if there was a program which generated a DM layout, including style, levels, etc. And then the layout design could be printed out.You're describing my wet mappers dream.
I've readed all the HLDM tutorials about gameplay and layout but I'm still suffering problems when I try to make a layout.
I keep ending up with layout in the form of a 8.
These layouts are overused and to linear imho.
Seriously, it begins to annoy me.
I would really like some pointers.

Never thought about signs or anything for the zero-g area... maybe I should though. Maybe a yellow, street-signish thing that somehow exemplified ZERO-G AHEAD!!1Well, i'm not really into spaceship stuff, i'm more into temples and tombs style maps with lots of arches so i'm not really a expert about space enviroments but maybe you should make a blue lightray beam thingy around the whole round area were U can swim in, this way, you'll know it's something special, because I didn't knew I could swim or use zero-g or whatnot in the middle, because it was just invisible.

Well played it, not much to say about it, empty, awfully textured (yeh I know you're going to change it! :P), architecture works, layout could work.

You know, i'm very straight forward, sometimes that can come across rude, most regulars know that and they know I don't mean to be rude most of the times.

TWHL has enough maps, so I don't feel a restiction because we aren't coming short on maps anyway. We play crossfire 70% of the time anyway.
But lets stop this discussion before this thread gets turned into a flame fest. :
PS: I'm not 100% sure if Muzz only allows maps from TWHL, only Muzz can tell. Would be strange if 50% of the maps on the server would be like from..snarkpit or whatnot. Then you can remove the TWHL from the servers name.

Muzz, you need to fix the mapcycle, just remove the maps we never play. Because when one of those maps come up, we instantly change map to something else anyway. I mean, have we ever played poisongarden, lost_technology, the crete series, dm_infested, n_mausoleum, dm_Control etc?

About nobody playing, get IRC and join #twhl on gamesurge. Just ask if someone wants to do a game of HLDM at the server. Mostly someone joins, most regular server visitors are admins anyway and they can change the map to crossfire and randoms will join.
