Did you know
~~~~~~~~
Gordon Freeman Has a Pony-tail.
From the maps c0a0d to c0a0e, the orientation of the BSP changes 90? left.
Throughout the game, layout is done without considering previous maps, so if you were to put the game into a huge BSP file, lots of sections would overlap
http://www.geocities.com/kaspergclan/blackmesa.jpg
Gman's briefcase has someting in it... change the rendermode of the .mdl to check it out.
There's loads of models and sounds in the PAK that was never used.
For example, the chumtoad or that bat-thingy (can't remember name). I think they both exist in PoV.
There are a lot of things that werent in hl1 lots of anims in models and stuff like that.
And theres the constructionist.mdl
1.The crossbow model had another skin.
2.The mp5 model looks like it is from another game.
3.The gauss gun had a handle or wath.
4.There was a cool egon skin that wasnt used.
And now other
1.Valve didnt make a grenade reload animation for Mp5.
2.Valve never used holster animations
Kingpin.mdl is one nasty fucker which was never used.
The construction guy isn't called gus...the forklift guy is, and they're diff. people. The Asheep team got it wrong, the construction guy is actually the old barney model...that's why all the textures are prefixed with "BARN_". They changed it to the current LD barney before the game was released, if you look on the HIT website, it has a pic of the old alpha/beta barney somewhere.
Did you guys know that in the Opposing Force .pak file theres a model of Gordon laying dead with a pair of sunglasses on?
Gus is a tubby lardman with barney's armour vest on but only at his back. The rest of him is made up of green overalls, a yellow helmet and an octagonal shaped face
http://img39.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img39ℑ=c0a0a00036qh.jpg
in deathmatch you can keep the egon firing continually without losing ammo by pressing and holding right click whilst firing. let go of left click and you keep on firing without losing ammo.
yeah, well i sorted it.. not entirely sure how... but hey, never mind.
It also means that i am compiling my own maps for the first time this month. All is well, all three maps have now compiled without problem. i'm off to test and take screenshots.
OH MY GOD!
muzzleflash, your leet dynamic lighting RULES!
changelog :
Drastically altered lighting in map 1 & 3 to make it suit better to the new dynamic lighting (oh boy, its good)
Changed wall texture in the 'storage pit' in Map 1. Also added some curved architecture and beams across the ceiling plus random objects like pipes etc.
Added ammo and health more forgivingly after realising that i find it a lot easier than everyone else due to... well, me knowing everything that was coming and all..
Added some decals.
Added some ambience sounds.
Added new room in map 1. (yes, my secret room) containing ammo, and self-advertisment :P
Oh.. sweet jesus, muzz.. You're dynamic lighting in map 3... christ its good.
Shit. And no, i'm not stupid enough not to notice the error. The fact is, I only have a few clip brushes....
Daubster said that i should make one of my barriers shoot-through-able so i highlighted, held down shift and copied it into the same position. i textured it with 'clip' and moved it to world.
now i get this error.
suggestions please..
Edit:
hmm, after searching for 'entity 156' i have found it IS the clipped brush.. but why does it think of it as an entity when i moved it to world? is it because its in the exact same place as an entity?
We have no way to contact him as he no longer uses MSN, so i decided that the best play would be to simply ask somebody else to fill in the spot for the cursed Chapter 4.
Please give a warm, hearty welcome to the newest member of the Hostage Situation team -
So, hopefully, with his speedy and good mapping skills, we can still release on time.
He also pointed out a hosting site to me
which may solve all our problems.
Tosse, the problem with your earlier post, is that evolution is proven. We KNOW we came from ancestors ersembling apes. There is very little doubt. We KNOW that millions and millions of tiny single cell organisms evolved in to land-faring creatures. Its been done a hundred times (in miniture) in a pitri dish.
Man can play as god now. We are almost at the peak of understanding EXACTLY how the Universe around us was created. Man can create life without the need of intercourse (referring to cloning - e.g. Dolly the sheep) which i believe was the big thing about the 'virgin' Mary and yet, Dolly the sheep is not the son of the sheep god.
And religion not threatening with eternal damnation? sorry, but they really do. Again, with the Dolly the sheep clone - Religous parties made terrible allogations about the scientists doing the experiment. Saying that what they were doing was un-holy. That they would go straight to hell.
And its utter BULLSHIT.
How the hell could Adam and Eve have existed and the time when (WE HAVE PROVEN IT) dinosaurs roamed the earth?
2 of every animal on the Ark? YEAH, if a thousand species get left behind. Apologise to the damned emu, but there is no rooom left.
And if there was a god, then surely he would know that more than a quarter of the world are atheist and would bother getting some of the old tricks out - burning sinners like me, giving Jesus a fucking shotgun to go medievil on the world.
Or is he all out of ideas now that crusifiction is banned?
a good point you raised, ZL.
and i agree, many children raised by religious parents end up believing themselves.
My mate "haggishunt56" is on that plate. except his is a rather interesting story.
He believes rather strongly in god, and used to be a regular chruch-goer mostly because the rest of his family went to church and tought him to be that way which is probably the situation in almost all christian families. But, this path of religion is easily polluted, because who does a young teenager listen to almost more than his parents? his mates.
And low and behold, here I come along, total atheist.
We have argued on more than one occasion about it, but I have actually stopped him going to church. He still participates in nativity placs and still goes to a sort of 'more fun sunday-school' which isn't really religious, it just gives people the 'good message of helping' and other such anti-sadistic rubbish.
But sometimes i feel bad about this. What right do i have, telling him what to beleive in? hell, i don't tell him not to beleive in whatever he wants to, i just sort of.. contradict every damn piece of bullshit that is written in the bible.
I could contemplate the existance of a god. I mean, even the strongest atheists feel that sometimes there might be something out there. But the bible? its a shitload of nonsense and about 3 quarters of it has been proved wrong my science. And yet people go on believing it. Adam and Eve? fuck off.
I am geniunely interestedin how many of you TWHLers out there are religous.
So, please post a reply set out like this -
I do/do not beleive in a religion.
Because...
I live in.
The final piece of information letting us see which is the most religous country...
I live in the UK which is growing more and more atheist.. is it the only place? is america largly religous? Does anyone still go to church?
I know i dont.
Religions are created by people who are too lazy or too scared to try to realise the truth. We are born. We live. We die.
There is no WHY there is just fact.
I personally think that the idea of being in a greater being's pitri dish is far more likely than the existance of a 'god'
