hmm. Daubster, tell me when you're ready for another beta test. nothing big this time, just some texture tweaks really.

But i fixed loads od things you told me..
And i also listened to M_gargantua and r_speeds in the second map have been severly reduced

actually, i just edited hs5c_beta a lot and finally got my end sequence working properly! yay!

Like it but dont like it if you get my meaning. It looks a bit like a 2 minute job :P text effects.

If you use photoshop, press CTRL + L on the background layer and move the right-most slider a bit to the left.

Rasterize the text layer, Press CTRL + L and move the left-most slider to the right to balance the two out.

nice work, could be better imo

actually that's dougie.. you're the guy who manages to find every bug in my maps by superbly going the wrong way, killing the wrong people and fluking so incredibly that you complete it with 100/100 health.

i mean, I think it is pretty original, following the life of a headcrab... And Unforseen Consequences is pretty original too.. i even amde a map for it (ok, a shit map, but still a map :P)
And the HL2 story is fun to rip... HLcomic rips it with a guy following in Freeman's footsteps through the game only... before Freeman.
Unforseen Consequences rips it with a guy trying to go about everyday life in a combine controlled city.
The Adventures Of Tom rips it by following a sensible, but silly headcrab. They are different, but yes, most jokes are ripped off HLcomic, but they were probably ripped off everything else XD

yes, i know... but its not totally horrible.. i myself think that the lighting suits the theme and textures. but (you may not beleive me) i left it somewhat blocky on purpose, because as i stated above, the map was gonna be a team effort by me and Habboi. Habboi rules at HL2 arcitecture and aesthetics so he would do that part. I'm pretty good with entities and layout so i would do that part.
why is everyone making gm comics?
Just me 'n habboi at the moment i think.

oh, Dr. Mapper is also... well. sorry to spam comics.. i didn't realise. sorry.

Ok, Ok... So the Matrix Source was a big failure, but i took into account EVERYTHING you guys said, and i came up with a fresh idea.
"Unforseen Consequences" Follows a middle-aged citizen through the hustle and bustle of every day life in a combine-ruled environment and how different it is from what we're used to. Tell me what you think.
Also, I can't let habboi take all the glory with Tom The Headcrab :P

The map was made by me. It's called 'Locked Up' and after some major improvements, i'll probably release it. It was originally planned as a team-made map by me and habboi, but then Habboi got tangled up in Gang-Life and is too busy.

made it a bit brighter for you habboi... i congratulate you for managing that in paint!

Its very good, you hitched on to a nice story, but i think you should have posed more than using live spawns.

best bit is when Tom tries to get through the door.

Along with the font, i had to think about some things to make them make sense due to your speech bubble layout. Make the person (or headcrab) speaking first's speech bubble closest to the top left, and the second, towards the bottom right. it's a human perception thing ,easier to read.

I want a progress report from the following people stating when their section should be ready to be integrated into the mod.

1) Unbreakable
2) coldfeet
3) Saco (good to have the old smiling saco back, btw)
4) Pepper

Muzzleflash is going to be our mod directory compiler, so when he asks for your files (after everybody has said that they have finished) please dont miss ANYTHING!
include maps, sounds, wads and models in a .zip on maximum compression!

Hopefully, we should have enough time to bicker about the splash :)

use HLmodel viewer to explore the PAK files..
all the game files (maps, models & sounds etc etc) are stored in the PAK files to save space and prevent clutter. Just open up PAK0 (i think its Pak0) in model viewer and find the filepath for the sound you are looking for. create an ambient_generic and put in the sound path.

the bomb (c4) in counter-strike is a model...

If you would something to appear, make a func_wall_toggle, give it a name and trigger it to make it appear. Set 'starts invisible' in the flags too..

im not sure if thats what your wanting

Saco, i swear that i do not try to ignore you, or just disregard everything you say, its just you say everything with so much spite... honestly, its incredible how you manage to transfer so much anger into a forum post. It pisses people off and yeah, they start ignoring you and flaming you.
But we're too near the end, so if you were to ditch us then we would be screwed in a very large way. So y'know... please dont.

Just stay calm, and try not to get frustrated. If you start being a bit nicer (and i know a lot of people really do piss you off) then people will be nicer back and your comments will be taken in with much more ... seriousness?

The input output idea is fantastic! it completely rules out the need for multi-managers and you can set a single trigger to trigger hundreds of things really really easily!

also, you almost never have to go into the input tab. i believe its just for checking.
