Was the map actually called mymap or does Steam always try and load mymap.pts due to some oversight at VALVe? Try 'pointfile <x>.pts'.

It's amazing how much peoples' specs've gone up, particularly the flood of Radeon 9800s and the deaths of MX440s (I switched between the two, as did at least one friend of mine).
