I expect a lot from my son. He should be mapping by the time he can count to 10.
Satchmo, I swear to god if you do that you'll have sucked the inspiration dry from him by the time he can count to 100. In fact, he'd likely grow up hating mapping. Most kids despise reading because they were forced to do it at a very young age.

Looks great Rimrook, but sometimes I'm afraid with those NS maps the immense texture detail distracts from the architecture. :zonked:

What are you on about? You can edit your posts 100%. You just can't edit them if somebody else has already posted after you. Your post has to be the last one to be able to edit it. The Edit button is next to your name if you haven't noticed.

You pretty much can't get away with killing someone just because they broke into your house, from what I understand. They're in the graveyard and you're in jail.

just make it so it kills the player if they block it. Buttons shouldn't be hard to disable, it doesn't seem... just use masters for them or whatever.

You didn't say whether this is multiplayer or not though. I would assume it is, but single player obviously opens up a lot more possibilities in terms of visual trickery.

The Metal Gear Solid codec ring sound.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUZ_evA8tjw&feature=related

Mine's just the ringing though, nothing else.

I have NEDM on there too, but it's not set. And my phone is always on vibrate anyway, so it's not like I ever get to hear it.

Ringtones are onoxious.

in Kid kills parents over Halo 3 Post #260265
Why did this turn from "priests should stop being hypocrites by owning guns" to "nobody in the U.S. should own guns"? 'Cause didn't hear anyone saying that.

Some dude who won't even let his kid play Halo has absolutely no need for a firearm. It's obviously not for self defense either, because how the hell are you going to thwart burglars if it takes five minutes to unlock your weapon?

It's not that nobody should own guns, rather it's this pervasive mentality in most areas of the country that it's almost vital to own one, even if you have absolutely no reason for it. People all over are packing heat and have nothing to do with it, so crazy shit like this ends up happening. I think it's perfectly fine if some gun-crazy redneck has hundreds of guns stashed around his house, because those are usually the kinds of people that actually know how to use them. Your average guy or girl just ends up hurting themselves with them.

With recoil that significant I can't imagine how it could return to its original position that fast. It probably shouldn't have as much vertical travel, that kind of distracts me.

It's true, he probably wouldn't have had the guts if he'd been faced with physically gashing his parents open and having their blood spill all over his hands. Plus he'd have been more easily apprehended if all he had was a knife. Those murders take time and skill. You can be completely detached from the situation and still shoot somebody.

Tito I wasn't calling you a Halo fanboy at all... I was pointing out how people do crazy nonsensical stuff all the time for things they love, for no reason except that they're fans of it. Most kids out there own five year old Dells and are unaware of any gaming experience outside of the latest three consoles. They've also been bombarded with a kajillion magazine articles about how great the next Halo game is going to be because of blah blah blah, and of course it's all their friends can talk about. It's the cool thing to do. That's where you get your long-ass early morning lines from.

And now there's an association between "Halo" and "homicidal maniac."

Jack Thompson couldn't have planned it better himself.

I hate the article though, they immediately preface Halo 3 as a violent video game (aliens are people too!), and later his dad describes it as sexually explicit. Seems like everything would have been fine if they'd just let him play his shitty game every once in a while, like every other sensible parent.

Man, you sure are crazy for these leggings. People are just crazy about holiday shopping for some reason. I never did get that. It seems like you could get similar leggings from some place that ships to the U.S. Or you could just get her something completely different that would be easier to get. That makes more sense than spending 80 dollars to have some obscure clothes shipped to you. I don't understand people that give an arm and a leg for some little item, I really don't.

Penguinboy, they aren't used much any more, but 5400RPM is/was an extremely common hard drive speed. Don't know what to say. :\

Anyway, some people are really good space savers, or just not space hogs. Not everybody needs or wants their entire game collection installed at one time, And not everybody torrents stuff as much as I or others do. 160GB is pretty damn small though, especially with game installs now commanding something like 20GB if I'm not mistaken. Something like 320GB would be much more realistic even if you're not undertaking huge downloads.

Oh, and I just checked Newegg. They sell a 320GB for 50 dollars, 8 bucks more and twice the size of that wimpy 160GB you got there. But hey, if you want to throw away your money on overpriced obsolete components, be my guest.

They're only overpriced when you're talking about high end systems though. For instance, you could never build an economy system that would match the specs of the lowest end Dell and still save money. It'd actually be several hundred more.

I was thinking it couldn't be the monitor because it does actually start up, and it responds after getting a signal a certain number of times... It's not just like a loose connection or something. But it could be the monitor too.

You didn't say the monitor was new though, I kinda just assumed you'd had it for a while.

Satchmo, the very first scene of the movie was shaky-cammed. The movie literally opened with this effect going on, and as far as I can remember every time a gunfight started (every two minutes) they brought the shakiness back.

Movie has no soul.
